Yeah. Plus sometimes Emily might shoot down a rumour that's getting a level of traction that they're uncomfortable with, but even then that tends to be from her personal social media accounts rather than via the Festival itself.

Since they didn’t announce when the entire media was reporting it as fact, surely one of these scenarios must be true:

- they agreed to an embargo (tour related?)
- they decided to announce in their own time (fuck the Scum)
- Macca isn’t nailed on yet 
- Macca isn’t headlining this year

Or the two remaining headliners are quite obvious/secured and will jump into the poster directly.

I think if McCartney wasn't playing they would say so after the tabloids said he was

The final two of those are deffo doomsday scenarios but I think it’s more likely you are correct with option a - that the agreement is Macca’s team told Glastonbury a time which they they can announce and they can’t move that forward. 

Imo if the poster is due very early March the festival is probably just holding on till then.

There is no point making am announcement now when poster is due so soon. Also I very much doubt Kenny will get his own announcement as he was already on the last poster and it would just encourage too many 'who is he?' Comments from Glastonbury Fans pages on FB. Poster will drop next week with a big name that the general public are not expecting (Harry Styles subbing)

Maybe they were never planning a big announcement for Macca & Kendrick because they already announced them 2 years ago.

I'm leaning towards poster dropping on Tuesday now and no specific announcement for Macca/Kendrick.

although they seem out of the running for a headline slot, can we see Florence + The Machine turning up for a secret John Peel/Park set? new single out today, their next album in a couple of months. 

still think they're due a proper headline set on their own merit, rather than being bumped up cause of Foos cancelling. 

maybe a Florence, Arctics, Taylor trio in 2023?

Emily said the “full line up” will be in March. The poster isn’t the full line up. I regard the full line up as stages/times. It’s unlikely we’ll get that in March; that’s an early June thing.

Maybe terms and turns of phrase have gotten a bit caught up (and nobody cares like we do) but I think the poster could arrive at any point within the next week.

I commented on this at the time and then she replied in the Twitter comments and said she meant the first poster.

I could have sworn I saw her tweet an asterix after that post that said first poster, but can't find that now. 

I think either

A) The little simz headliner was the Feb news, and poster will be next week

 

B) We'll get more news on 28th Feb, (headliners), and poster will drop after balance and before resale.

It looks like she’s going to be at latitude who are announcing next week too. 

I can’t see a latitude headliner headlining Glastonbury. I know the Killers have shared but I don’t think that’s a solid rule really.

We aren’t fully certain about who our subs our this year. Could she be a leftfield option for a sub? She has performed before with Kendrick at events (BST I think?)

Yeah, Latitude have recently been targeting Other stage headline or Pyramid sub level acts. E.g. Chemical Brothers, Liam Gallagher, George Ezra, Lana Del Rey. 

Florence headlining Latitude is a get, but I don't think she's Glasto sized.

I can't see them as anything but headliners really; have headlined before (albeit as a stand-in), headlined Hyde Park twice and is doing other major EU fests. I think it's just a case of Latitude bagging a big name this year if true, as was the case with The Killers.

I'd just like to see F+TM bring their full spectacle to the Pyramid – would smash it imo. Maybe she'd take a sub slot out of her love for the fest, but feel an unannounced set is more likely. of course, the new album could flop and things would change...

She headlined after Kendrick at BST. 

She ain't gonna play and not headline.

I mean she has managed to garner a surprising amount of buzz for this new single... I've had non-music mates message me about it

We don't actually know she's going to be at Latitude, she's just getting placed there because there aren't really any other festivals left for her. But she could just as easily do her own thing in a park, or not play any UK festivals at all...
