Indeed. They look a bit daft through the prism of history but were all pretty hefty bookings at the time.

Tbf I don’t even think they look daft looking back. Those bands were everywhere back then, I’d be surprised if they played any lower than that.

The Kooks are also still able to do three nights at Brixton Academy (next month!), the Wombats are doing the bloody O2, Bloc Party play venues like Ally Pally. That mid 00s indie bookings don't particularly look great when looking back at past lineups, but the nostalgia factor has come around for it relatively fast and it's only maybe one or two bands who massively imploded their careers without keeping a fanbase (Razorlight, for one). The rest are still chipping away pretty solidly and probably earning a very decent living.

Cant lump a band who made Silent Alarm in with the bloody Wombats.

Indeed, the landfill plodders certainly dipped a little around 2010-15 but have come roaring back in recent years.

In the respect of touring you can’t really (and music obviously but thats not the point here). Bands like the kooks, wombats never really took long breaks. Bloc Party have just come back from a fairly long break

Patrick Wolf was amazing. I went to see him a few times subsequently, hoping he'd live up to the promise of that amazing performance. Sadly he never did.

I mean he literally played third down at Reading… I can’t see him getting a slot that big at G but I reckon a sizeable slot on the other stage maybe? Could he headline JP?
