The IOW festival of old would surely have snagged this no? A great example of how things have fallen for them.

Billy Idol is cool and I thought he was great when I saw him play IOW but it’s not as if he’s a shit hot act in demand that will make or break the festival.

Can’t believe he’s big enough for an arena tour somehow

He was before my time and I’m in no rush to get tixs to see him again but in fairness he is pretty good live. I’ve seen a few bands that were meant to be the next big and they didn’t come close to having his energy or charisma on stage despite the 40 year age gap.

Don’t know if they do day tickets but I would consider going for the Friday to see Chic and Lionel in the same day.

They do.

And assuming the acts play in the order listed on the poster, with Capaldi being on last you can leave by 10 in order to get a ferry back to the mainland in plenty of time.

Suspicious UK and Glastonbury sized hole in the middle of Alt-J's European leg of the world tour now......

Not the most glaring G-hole I’ve ever seen but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them popping up.

JP headline. Chvrches subbing. Party like it’s 2013. Now do the Harlem Shake.

Interesting one - as @dentalplan says I really struggle to put them on the lineup. Can’t say I hear much about them nowadays and it’s weird as their music seems strangely fit for the TikTok era.

"their music seems strangely fit for the TikTok era". WTF.

Alt-J is a VERY GOOD band with three solid albums and even the new single is a good one. I understand not all people can like them, but I don't understand the lack of recognition they get in this forum...

It’s probably because they’re shite.

I’m not sure how well it sold but they did an arena tour in 2015 on the back of their second album but things just seemed to fizzle out with their third. They got some good festival slots, headlining Latitude, Boardmasters, Blue Dot and the Other Stage but other than one date at the O2 their tour was much smaller, moving back to Academy sized venues. I’m not 100% sure of the capacities of other venues but in Glasgow they went from 13000 to 3000 and while The Hydro was obviously too big I’m not sure they even sold out the Armadillo either.

They got oddly big for a bit but it feels like they’ve just settled back into being another decent sized band without ever troubling the top of a Glastonbury lineup again. JP headliner does seem like the most natural place for them these days.

well seeing as Tik Tok has just given Glass Animals a gigantic boost it wouldn’t be wise to count it out as a major music influence right now. If anything I’d say it’s more influential than radio.

Funny you mention them - I think they (along with alt-J) are in contention to headline John Peel. I know they were booked to not headline it last time but they’re emerging as a pretty crucial modern band.
