It's right to call it out, but ultimately very few (including me) are willing to make a real stand such as boycotting games or sponsors.

There is also a level of hypocrisy where people making the criticism are fine using phones or wearing clothes produced by cheap labour in poor working conditions. Ultimately people being hypocrites is not a new thing in football.

I did and I’d do it again out of the three candidates that were in the final ballot. Nandy was the best of a bad bunch. Since then though she has made a few comments that indicate that she is more careerist than soft left/unite Labour. But at least being a careerist and being the MP for Wigan means she's more likely to see left wing politics, positive relations with the unions, and grassroots activism/democracy as a beneficial to the Labour cause and not a hinderance.

Anyway Ian Byrne won in west derby, Starmerites are crying all over twitter, today is a beautiful day.

Genuinely surprised you prefer Nandy to RLB. Thought RLB was the Corbyn choice by a long distance. She is overtly Socialist no?

Politically yes but she’d be eaten alive by both the media and the PLP. Not the strongest performer, not so quick on her feet, and a young socialist woman with a dialect who is fairly well tied to both remain and freedom of movement. I doubt she’d even last as long as Truss.

The armband fiasco is the worst example of virtue signalling I have seen in recent times. I absolutely despise that term as it has been hijacked by people using it as an attack line against people who dare to stand up for various liberal causes, but that is exactly what this is if we refuse to wear an armband. Would show how empty a gesture it was and how little the cause actually means, and would significantly set back any form of progress for LGBTQ+ players.

It’s a joke really that the FA has backed down. The team/association shouldn’t care about a ‘booking’ of the cause is something they truly believe in.

We're not an inclusive country, and we're currently going backwards. We're better than many, but this is far too common.

Thing is, most don't see it, they only see the protests and complaints, but what would they? People who aren't the victims claim they're tired of "woke campaigns", but this proves exactly why it's necessary.

I'm going to queer friendly bars instead of watching these matches. Normally I'd watch a dozen groups stage games and most knockouts in the pub, but fuck that noise, and fuck these cowards. I'm not supporting this bullshit.

I don’t really care about fans watching, if it’s something they’ve been waiting years for such as Wales fans then it’s fair for them to want to watch their team.

However I do think if the players/team do genuinely feel strongly for the cause then they should do things like the armband or take the knee and screw the repercussions.
