It would be misplaced to think that a belief in gender identity theory is a left/right issue.

It’s not a left/right issue, but it’s an issue that politicians have tried to turn in a culture wall. The debate is too often defined by people on either extreme, ignoring the view of those looking for some sensible middle ground which will make trans people feel a little more equal. Like Middle East politics, it’s not something that is going to resonate with the average person in an election.

Haha love this. Seems like Rawls’ main thing is basically a jedi mind trick to turn liberals into socialists by making them learn empathy by forcing them to imagine how they’d feel if they were born different.

And concluding by saying the problem is not want for redistribution of wealth but that the mechanism for distribution is controlled by the capitalist. So yeah, how to solve that… maybe…working class ownership of the means of production?

This liberal has accidentally discovered socialism.

But, if thats what it takes.

What the left lacks more than anything is patience and tact in both message and method. So if liberals want to rephrase leftist ideas and sell them to the wavering middle, I don’t mind it.

Patience is the understatement of the century.

That's sad. Sorry to hear that. So many sad and mad stories came out of that pandemic and feels like hasn't been processed properly, just moved on.

The saddest bit was it wasn't until this year it got her,and I hadn't had the chance to visit for a while... We had some stuff we needed to talk about. Bit of regret about that. too late to change it now.

Been reading about Macron..not only has he got domestic problems with the retirement age thing and god knows where that he heading, but also he seems to have put his foot in it in a recent interview about europe and China/Taiwan...has upset a few others in EU/west...strategic autonomy for europe (i.e. break from US), and nothing to do with us what China does with Taiwan etc etc.

lots of talk about a big war coming, not a bad idea to try to detach Europe from getting dragged in by the usa..
