I don’t think many people go randomly looking for news and end up on GBNews and suddenly start hating immigrants, Meghan and suddenly start caring how you define a woman. I think the people who watch are generally people who just want their own echo chamber.

No problem either if Jez, Mayor Driscoll and Owen Jones set up their own lefty news channel. I’m not sure echo chambers (on either side ) are healthy, but not sure I would legislate to stop them.  One of my favourite patients is a big GBNews fan, I just move the conversation to other things and we get on fine.

Kind of naive

Well as you read it then you know that Barry the Fish Man attacked anyone and everyone and even changed his opinion to do so on many occasions - the day he went after me he even contradicted himself of posts within minutes of each other just so he could attack more than one person.

He spent months doing it to dozens of people every day and at times was more than nasty, I shall say bigoted for want of using  a stronger term - but you would know that having read it

That is how trolls operate and thus one can only come to one conclusion.

Anyway, now I know there ignore function is there I shall never see what he posts again.

Except when people reply to the twat.

Honestly it just seems like people are holding onto a grudge - just let it go! You don't actually even know the guy!

AW man, maybe you have not been around long enough but they were lovers for a few years, didn't end well as you can see 😚

there wouldn't be many left on here maybe what it needs an will make moderation easier

This isn’t a dog at you specifically but it also needs the mods to enforce the rules equally and not become part of the problem.

they will be . it makes things clearer and easier , with no conflict over what's a transgression and what isn't

That’s good. It also needs mods to not get involved in the issues within threads too but as long as the rules get enforced then that should help.

You say I contradicted myself, I stand by things I posted.  A lot of which has been proven correct given the revelations that have come out since.  A lot of you where taken for mugs by the government and its been proven so now.

I have umbrage with this type of comment and I am sure I am guilty too.

I did read the thread. You did seem to change your mind (nothing wrong with that) but then say that was your sentiment all along. Calling people mugs isn't helpful either at all as it comes across as superior and you know best. Rees Moog does the same. Just isn't helpful to a debate that you say you want, as sadly it gets people's backs up and gets nowhere as they become defensive and not open to others peoples opinions.

As you maybe know I like you in these threads, I like a different opinion that challenges mine and you can certainly do that to me. Which is good, nice to try and think in a different way to see if I am right in my thinking. I do it with my Son just to get him thinking.

I have heard lefty students openly talking about trying to cancel people . I think it’s the wrong approach, you disagree with someone’s views on immigration, trans rights etc then challenge them. I want the left wing politicians to gain experience doing this from a young age, not being kept away from opposition views.

Students these days come from all sorts of persuasions and political hues, but the law has very much been ensuring the rights of speakers, rather than vice versa.

What specifically did you hear them want to change?

The  law has gone the opposite direction during the last few years and the government have specifically prevented universities from no platforming controversial speakers and ensuring their rights, yet Sunak was widely reported to have chosen this as one of the subjects he could get supporters to rally around in the run up to the next election

Lefty students become lefty lawyers.

For those who think GB News is run as a business and that its continued presence serves as a measure of commercial success, remember it's the one part owned by Paul Marshall, whose hedge fund took a large bet against NatWest, coincidentally before their presenters all piled in slating it 24/7.

It was making a loss a year ago, hence had an investor shake up
