Seem to remember an article that suggested he got his seat as a reward for helping cover up Corbyn lying over train-gate.

What’s train-gate?

Where Corbyn photo'ed himself sat in a train corridor saying there were no seats. Virgin released the cctv showing loads of them free, he then changed his story and said he was in a large group and he expected that many seats together to be free.

he managed to turn what should have been an easy policy win into a PR disaster.

Sam Tarry has been sacked.

The unions are enjoying popular support helped by the likes or Mick Lynch and the strong straight talking arguments for wage rises during a cost of living crisis.

What is Starmer doing pitching himself on the opposite side of the argument? - even leaving aside that it makes a mockery of the very point of the Labour party’s existence - just strategically it seems like such an own goal..

A possibly also relevant NB - Sam tarry happens to be Ange Rayner’s boo

I mean imagine if Starmer had come out in support, got on the tv with Mick Lynch on the picket lines laying into the tories’ record on wage stagnation over the last 12 years.

Honestly what is he doing? Probably the worst leader at the worst possible time. Never should it be easier to drive home a proper progressive agenda. Never has the offering been so horrendously timid

I think it's time for the Labour party to change its name.

As it now clearly has nothing to do with working people.

Any suggestions for a new name?

unions are kicking off. I don't know if Starmer made right decision. Maybe he wants to look tough and ready for government and not a scary lefty etc...but labour really need to look united whilst the tories are squabbling.

Remember people will always dunk on a Labour leader whatever they do this is how things work. Meanwhile people won’t say a thing about the Tories who have actually facilitated this.
