blutarsky
1 hour ago, John the Moth said: Exciting š Are partial conversions allowed at Glasto in the campervan field? The festival website says you need a permanent bed and fixed washing or cooking facilities, so it's probably a no for the build@ian the wormis proposing. However, I imagine he can get round this as he may be on site and parked up near the Rabbit Hole? I guess you would use the van to bring in equipment too?Ā Here's the festival's FAQ answer: What counts as āsuitable fitted facilitiesā in a camper/caravan? Your campervan/caravan MUST have purpose-built fitted sleeping facilities and either fitted cooking or washing facilities. Any converted vehicles must clearly be live-in vehicles. This does not mean simply a van with a piece of foam cut to size for a bed, and a bucket for washing! A team of campsite staff and security staff will check that campervans and caravans coming into these fields have bona fide living accommodation. No other vehicles will be let onto these fields under any circumstances ā not even late replacement vehicles in the case of a breakdown ā sorry. blutarsky
Finally got to spend a good chunk of time on the van today. The wiring is done, so have started getting insulation sorted. I was hoping to fit the roof vents but itās been chucking it down so working inside the van. Also hoping to get the shower tray and toilet in place today.Ā Ā Here areĀ the wiring spools where the leisure batteriesĀ will go. Smeble
Had some great times in this van, a few trips around the UK and several festivals until someone did this to it. The inside was horrendous, we put it back into storage after a festival so there was some booze left it it, they trashed 2 windows and the habitation doorĀ to get in and had a party with the leftover booze then trashed the vanĀ , KnivesĀ through the walls, cut the seats, threw ketchup all over the place, and worse.fortunately the insurance company gave us a very generous pay out and we had just bought itās replacement, so the blow wasnāt as bad as it could have been. They made no attempt to steal the van but they did break into the gas locker and cut the line to the cylinder so I wonder if they were trying to set fire to itššš

paulshane
Just finished mounting my 110W panel to my T5, just need some sun to make sure it's working š Ā Ā Normally this lives propped up against my garage, charging a few batteries that I use for LED lights on my workbench. For Glastonburys it gets moved to the roof of my caravan and connected to my 110AH leisure battery, gives me ample phone charging ove the weekend š Ā But I decided to make a setup for the van too - its bolted to the cross bars with some brackets I made up in stainless, so when needed, I can unscrew the cross bars and the whole lot lifts off. Ā Cables are routed through the grommets that cover the mounts for the tailgate hinges, so already wather proofed. Ā I'm still working on an interior, so the battery and charge controller and just ratchet strapped in the bact at the moment š
