I absolutely hated Michael Owen joining United but it doesn't take away what he did for us. We don't win that FA Cup final in 2001 without Michael Owen. The blue team of Manchester decided to drop a shedload of cash on the wages of an ageing player in a position they didn’t really need cover for just to have the prestige of having him in their side. The red team of Manchester were so annoyed about their local rival having an old player that they swooped in a put in a higher offer. Again they weren’t looking to fill the position CR7 plays in. They just threw their teddy out of the pram and decided they didn’t want anyone else having him. Both teams look pathetic and childish after this saga. The fans of the red team went from hating CR7 last week to loving him again this week. He’s got no loyalty.
