My biggest memory of the World Club Cup is that Man U didn't compete in the FA cup because of it.

what was man utds excuse for not competing in the cup this year...?

United and liverpool record in the Fa Cup is woeful. United won it only twice in the best part of 25 years and liverpool only twice in 30 years(not for 16 years).

Still think City will go on to win it but glad to still be involved as I didn’t think we would be when the gap was 12 points a month or 2 back.

didn't expect them to drop any points.

and now ASM too for a few weeks FFS

It's not ideal. Though it seems like we weren't doing too poorly against West Ham so maybe we can find away around this. If nothing else we'll have to. Even moreso if Burnley and Watford get results in their games in hand this week.

You would have to say leeds are in more bother than Newcastle. Poor form, letting in to many goals, still to play 5 of the top 7 and Liverpool and spurs next.

If you let in 9 goals against this united side, you know you've got problems.

We play Brentford this weekend coming up and would go above them if we win, with the Bees having not won since New Year's Day, so that's definitely bringing another name into the relegation mix. I do agree Leeds are rapidly getting into trouble though, even if they gave Newcastle a tough game a few weeks back. Dunno if it's the injuries or a goalkeeper who was so good last season no longer playing as well or the lack of January incomings to a squad propped up by academy players, but they're definitely in trouble.

Just tweeted about Brentford. They've had a lot of plaudits this season, but also on trouble.

Realistically it's probably going to be the bottom 3 now. Only team I can see pulling out is Burnley, with there experience and the way they play plus games in hand.

i've enjoyed brentford, not a club i'd ever consider as top level. and well done them for getting to top level.

Copied this from elsewhere so not 100% on accuracy but...

Form in last 5

Norwich 7/15
Burnley 6/15
Watford 4/15
Newcastle 11/15
Everton 3/15
Leeds 4/15
Brentford 1/15
Palace 3/15

Brentford and Leeds definitely getting drawn in, Everton not yet out of it.

Burnley games there's usually only a goal in it either way, so there always going to nick points.

Leeds have let in 10 goals in 3 games against pretty average teams. They have the most inform team and strike force this week.

Current major injury list at Leeds.

Philips, Bamford, Cooper, Hjelde.

Can probably add Koch to that list as well after being headbutted by McTominay yesterday. Raphina also not fully fit after returning from Brazil.

It’s the downside of having a small squad. We haven’t had a recognised striker on the pitch for months now.

A few of those players should be back next month. We’ll see how we get on then.

Leeds and Everton have a really tough run upcoming, think they're both in trouble although I still think Brentford will be the third team to go down.

We deserved 3 points versus West Ham really, played well. Must beat Brentford next!
