Staying off site and coming in daily

Does anyone have any experience of visiting the festival site each day rather than staying on site? We’re having to consider staying off site next year (long story but we’ve got tickets and desperately don’t want to miss it). Looks like there’s a shuttle from Glastonbury Town on Fri/Sat/Sun, but not really sure what the deal is - whereabouts on site do you enter and how bad are the queues each day etc. Fully aware that this is an unorthodox way of doing it but anyone with experience of doing the festival this way would love to hear from you! At the moment we’re thinking about staying in Glastonbury Town.
