Tell you what, I don't mind Loyle Carner, but subbing the main stage at Reading just feels odd

What would you say is the closest UK festival that resembles the Reading of say 10 years ago?

I don’t think there is one. It’s what made R&L so special.

They've all split off into individual festivals now.

Glastonbury I feel like has moved into where Reading was.

i can’t believe how empty it looks. surely this has to be a massive reality check for them lineup wise. https://x.com/bbcr1/status/1695156531967242678?s=46

Jeez, looks like that’s it 😬

Was prob no bigger for BHTH to be honest.

I think half the crowd just go and wait for Fender or whoever it is headlining tonight.

Kind of defeats the two headliner thing a bit…

Time to bring back…

*drumroll*

… THE BIG TENT

ALL PROBLEMS SOLVED

Recon the big tent returning would single-handedly knock all the anti social behaviour on the head

…and perhaps end world hunger

Just watching this Mimi Webb on iPlayer. Hate to sound like yer da but it's mad that ten years ago we had the likes of SOAD, Deftones and NIN playing high main stage slots, and we've gone from that to stuff like this high up the bill.

She’s 7th down hardly comparable…

Pathetic. STOP BOOKING sh*t AMERICAN RAPPERS.

They sell tickets- not sure it really matters if they turn up - and when they do it goes down well. They did well with Post Malone

BBC are putting out a documentary about Reading and Leeds by the looks of it.

I wonder if they will acknowledge the festival's history prior to 2018.

Obviously

Glastonbury this year was a total one off - its usually a lot less rocky, one large international rock band is not even a given. I think Rock Werchter is one of the closer comparisons.

its clear just booking rock and indie doesn’t work, theres no fests of the scale of R&L that do it anymore

Watching him now, such a reliably good performer, absolutely love him

When he shows up!
