Just catching up with Frank Turner.  Excellent as ever and doing his best to get a dull crowd going.

Tell you what, I don't mind Loyle Carner, but subbing the main stage at Reading just feels odd

What would you say is the closest UK festival that resembles the Reading of say 10 years ago?

I don’t think there is one. It’s what made R&L so special.

They've all split off into individual festivals now. 

Glastonbury I feel like has moved into where Reading was.

Possibly 2000 Trees, but on a smaller scale.

Was prob no bigger for BHTH to be honest.

I think half the crowd just go and wait for Fender or whoever it is headlining tonight.

Kind of defeats the two headliner thing a bit…

Can't judge the health of the festival this year on the size of the crowd for Foals. If the crowds that small for Fender or Billie then FR should be worried.

Sam sounds good I just find him so incredibly dull.

Also the only MSW headliner the BBC will be showing live which is a bit sh*t.

This year's Glasto line-up resembled more of a classic R&L line-up than this year's R&L does.

They sell tickets- not sure it really matters if they turn up - and when they do it goes down well. They did well with Post Malone

Glastonbury this year was a total one off - its usually a lot less rocky, one large international rock band is not even a given. I think Rock Werchter is one of the closer comparisons.

its clear just booking rock and indie doesn’t work, theres no fests of the scale of R&L that do it anymore
