LnR usually sells out much closer to the time if it does at all. It being the only place (so far) to see Billie and The Killers in England this year will do a lot of heavy lifting, bear in mind that there's an underlying theme of most festivals worldwide being underwhelming this year.

Yup bar the last two years, where its sold out well in advance.

Without the COVID boom and Arctic Monkeys, it will be the first where we can maybe see if the two main stage format actually helps sell the fest, or whether people now knowing its a bit of a con hinders it.

There's obviously tonnes of other factors, the generally weak lineup being one for sure. I think the fact that Fender, The Killers and Eilish have pimped themselves everywhere for the last couple of years, will negate much of the hype for them, indeed it obviously has, it would've been a far bigger deal last year.

im obviously hoping they only sell half the tickets and have to revert back to the big tent! With the large amount of first timers making up the Reading crowd, a degraded experience wont have as big of an impact though

they've been very lucky with weather, swear its not been shit for a long time

I remember Travis Scott playing to an empty crowd because it was torrential.

We must remember it is El Nino this year (not a hot summer due to global warming which will get pushed relentlessly), which usually means a long long hot summer with a lot of huge downpours and thunderstorms in August.

Don’t remember 2012 being bad but was in the tent for the cribs when Florence was on.

Reading has been very lucky with the weather in the main over the years

Hmmm... I remember watching Florence's set on TV at the time and thinking it looked like a soggy one.

It's in full on YouTube and the rain doesn't look quite that intense, mind. Still present enough for a lot of hoods in the crowd though. As a counterpoint, looked like it was mostly dry for The Vaccines on before FATM.

Given 2022 had a crazy hot July and early August before cooling off in late August, I dread to think what that might translate as.

I don’t think I got a drop of rain on me that day, so probably just one big shower

from my pics the Friday looked cold

Saturday and Sunday looked alright with folks in shorts and stuff and dry ground

Who’s everyone realistically expecting?

At this stage I’ve not got a clue

In an ideal world, hopefully one of the MSE headliners drops out and the 1975 can come and pick up the pieces again. That'd be fantastic but upon further research it looks as though on the Reading Festival website, the poster has been taken down, pretty certain it was up so we could be receiving a line up update very soon?

Anybody remember Enter Shikari being cut off from talking about this on stage last year?

I'd love to do a deep dive on where the money goes from the water companies to Reading Festival.

The timing of that was increadible!

Given the current arguments over water companies and their sewage dumping, is "deep dive" a pun intended?

Just realised that it has been round about a decade since the fabled ‘cho sued’ moment on here (if you know, you know). What a time.

Digging to China

EDIT: That was the year before, my bad
