It means:

“We’ve booked three and headline acts,” he said. “Three are booked and one is pretty close to finishing. There’s the current usual back and forth about how many pounds or they should get and that sort of stuff.

“In , we’ve got four done but we’re not quite done with the fourth.”

Asked how many of those acts had headlined R+L before, he replied: “Two of those four have.”

Going off of this I had a look back through previous headliners, counted co headline and MSW/MSE all as headliners.
I took out any that are defunct, no longer big enough or unlikely to headline (Foo Fighters, Metallica/Maiden/GnR don't really fit the current direction of the festival, Radiohead/Pearl Jam not really common headliners, RATM can't see being booked again)

I feel like it leaves

21 Pilots
Fall Out Boy
Kendrick
Eminem
Muse
RHCP
Paramore
Green Day
MCR
The Killers
Blur- rumoured comeback
Pulp- rumoured comeback

Then I guess some like Kasabian and Kings of Leon who you could debate whether they are big enough or not

never take this kind of thing seriously.

... its almost like he wants publicity since he's putting 200k tickets on sale tomorrow

Round up inspired by @Andre91

Friday.

Piri and Tommy - Not a great start to the weekend. Dance tent was rammed but the crowd was awful chanting over Piri talking and moshing when no music was playing. 3/10

bbno$ - Funny but really bizarre, said he was playing an unreleased track and started playing london calling over the speakers. 4/10

Bakar - Was really good, tent was again rammed and the hottest gig i've ever been in but the performance was great. 7/10

Pinkpantheress - Was really looking forward to this but same problems with the dance tent, was far too small for her. Huge crowd, decent performance but the hype man was awful. 6/10

Circa Waves - Feel good indie in the sun. Can't go wrong really. 7/10

Little Simz - Watched from the side but great performance, one of the greatest rappers this country has ever produced. 8/10

Cleopatrick - knew 1 tune but enjoyed them. Very lively crowd. 7/10

Polo G - One of the worst acts i've ever seen at this festival. truly awful and left early because the crowd were chanting for thiago silva and Dave. 1/10

Dave - The king. Stunning performance which was clearly properly thought out, fantastic band and loved the 9 min heart attack being played. Sound was shit tho. 9/10

Saturday

Loyle Carner - Love him, great suprise and a lovely atmosphere at the introducing for the secret set including hyping up the guy on before him loads. Needs a big main stage slot next year. 8/10

Fontaines D.C. - One of the best bands in the world right now, amazing live - fantastic energy and bringing Dexter up on stage was a proper moment. 8/10

Wolf Alice - One of my fav bands about, Ellie was on top form and vocally sounded fantastic. Drew a huge crowd but loads in the front pit were just waiting for AM and getting annoyed at people singing and moshing to Wolf Alice but still really enjoyable, they need to headline off album 4. 8/ 10

AM - Really enjoyed the set bar the horrific crushing in the front pen. Setlist was great for me but could've done with one more old tune to make the crowd happy. Alex was vocally brilliant although he did annoy me during cornerstone singing behind the song. One of my favourite bands ever and the band that got me into guitar music so was fantastic to finally see them. 9/10

Sunday

Denzel Curry - Great set. High energy, shame he didn't do the bulls on parade cover but enjoyed it. 7/10

Courting - One of the highlights of the weekend. Fantastic live energy and the tennis balls were a great laugh. I'd be very suprised if their album doesn't blow them up. 9/10

DMAs - Really nice chill indie in the sun. Seen them before but they are always spot on live and the believe cover was a great suprise as they hardly play it live. 7/10

Charli - Great performance. Got the crowd going, her back up dancers were brilliant and Vroom Vroom was great. 8/10

The 1975 - Just incredible, played all the hits - Matty was on top form and the crowd was lovely with really good vibes. I agree it wasn't as good as 2019 but it would've been so hard to beat that with such short notice. Such an important band to me personally as i've grown up with them so always a treat to see them. Need that glasto spot asap. 9.8/10

Sorry waffled on for far too long here but was extremely bored!

The 1975 are probably my favourite band. I literally love them so much seen them 16 times now. Even seen them when they toured as drive like I do and big sleep. I was disappointed in the set if I’m honest, yea it was such short notice but they were always booked for summer sonic in Japan and the show was a carbon copy of that so even if they had a year + notice, the show wouldn’t be 2019 production. For a ‘greatest hit’ show loads of their bangers were missing. Fallingforyou, she’s American, girls etc. ending on give yourself a try I don’t understand. It felt like they couldn’t wait to get off the stage once the last note of that song was finished. They should of ended on sex or the sound. Yes it was still good, but I miss the full production with all the colours and graphics. I’m just hoping they return to that after bfiafl tour ends. Also watching it back today (friend screen recorded it on the night incase it wasn’t on iPlayer) little things like spitting at the camera during people just didn’t make sense  especially during Covid times. I know he was joking about the Covid not real thing but as a paramedic that annoyed me a bit. I’m just hoping that the fame and glory hasn’t gone to Mattys head. Also the 2 stage thing resulted in a much shorter set compared to 2019. Still a solid 8/10 though for me. My best friend who I finally converted after showing him the 2019 set came to see them with me and he really enjoyed it but the first thing he said after was I don’t want to see them in January, I will wait for the next tour and hope it’s full production again.

I think they've done away with the full production because it was so expensive and environmentally taxing to lug around everywhere with them

From what I’ve heard, they want a more intimate stage design for this tour, they are playing some smaller venues this time round. The full production will be back or they will have new ideas. The black and white staging won’t last long

Me and my daughter have been following the band since I saw them in 2013 play before a Man City game!

We have watched them play many times at Glastonbury and Leeds along with my daughter, and they were lovely when my daughter met them at the signing tent at Leeds in 2014. We both walked away and went to the Silent disco halfway through the set at Leeds this year.

To us, Matty looked like he was on something, was chain smoking and came across as a first class prick with what he said about Rage. Someone obviously had a word with him as I can see he was much nicer about Rage at Reading and looked less up his own arse.

I agree about the set list too

He clarified after on insta what he meant about rage, it's noted he's a huge fan and apparently was saying 'who could be rage' rather than who are, he said the first bit at reading

Ffs, the Rage comment was obviously a joke. People need to stop getting their panties in a bunch about it. If he said it about a band you didn’t like, you wouldn’t care. Matt Healy has an ego. It’s part of who he is. I couldn’t care less. He’s just cool.

This. I’m sure I also saw an article where he literally talks about liking RATM and going to Reading to see them before they got the call to headline.

That’s good to know. I had been talking to some people near me before they started saying how much I love RATM and when he said it they said to me ‘Ooooh I bet you didn’t like that’ and I was really laughing at it and said I think it’s really funny and typical Matty.

I think he needs a few lessons from Oli Sykes on how to make a joke while on stage.

I think he needs to be a bit more careful with what he sais though. I know it’s typical matty but he could of potentially converted a load of people but now they think he is a dickhead

ps thanks for sharing that video, never seen it before!

The 1975 don’t need to convert RATM fans. They are a far bigger band in this country already.

Yes but there will be people there who went primarily to see rage, then when they cancelled and got replaced by the 1975, they might have decided to give them a listen. Then to hear your favourite band talked about in that way is going to make you think “this guy is a c***” and leave
