5 of those 6 have headlined before. Melvin said that of the 4 headliners booked, 2 haven't played before.

I think Foals may have been booked straight after their Glastonbury performance.

Also thinking it may be Lizzo rather than Doja Cat. Machine Gun Kelly the other booked but not headlined before?

MSE//

Paramore > The Wombats > Two Door Cinema Club

Kendrick Lamar > Aitch > Wet Leg

Blink 182 > Jamie T > Korn

MSW//

Foals > Blossoms > Idles

Lizzo > Becky Hill  > Central Cee

MGK > Don Broco > Idles

Take the 4 headliners booked thing with a pinch of salt to be honest

 2023 Prediction

R&L.jpg

Noel Gallagher subbing Harry Styles? Could you imagine? Dinnae think his ego will ever allow that to happen.

Loving the shout for The Weeknd though, would be an instant day ticket for me with the hope that Paramore are playing the same day.

All of them are MSW headliners tbh

I'm less sure on Florence & The Machine. Maybe when she was touring in 2018 but I feel like she's pivoted away from this kind of thing.

Saying that Reading and Leeds is a much more spread-out sonic field now and FATM still get number 1 albums so fuck it, why not.

Probably way, way off, but I’ve had an early go at a 2023 lineup:

MSE: The Killers / Jamie T / The Wombats

MSW: Doja Cat / J Hus / Becky Hill

MSE: Eminem / Playboi Carti / Central Cee

MSW: Foals / Rex Orange County / Wet Leg

MSE: My Chemical Romance / YUNGBLUD / ??? (some rapper with rock cred - is Lil Uzi still a thing?)

MSW: Paramore / Pendulum / Don Broco

I personally think that Paramore would be MSE or nothing but I’m chucking my eggs in  basket of them and MCR being booked for the same day. Someone mentioned it the other day and objectively I don’t buy it but I’d love it so yeah, I’ve gone with it for this.

This seems realistic but id swap Broco and Pendulum.

Harry Styles on MSW has me rolling - literally a MSE headliner all day. And I don't even really care for the bloke.

He’s way to big for Reading at the mo, far more money to made elsewhere

If he turns up it will be after he’s done some stadiums and a slot at Glasto.

Maybe 2025?

Could easily do R+L amongst a handful of stadium dates and it wouldn’t stand out as odd. Day tickets would sell out instantly

He’d cost the festival way too much.

more than they’d need to spend to sell it out anyway

I reckon this is a very good shout. Peggy Gou is no way doing the dance tent though imo

Yungblud will likely get another number 1 album this week. Surely subbing MSE isnt out of the question here?

Minimum I’d say… would be a weakish MSW (at least today, who knows in 6 months) but he easily stands up against Wolf Alice, Polo G and Charli XCX

I think there was no question that he is a sub headliner. The question is, if he is chosen to headline MSW - does it make the festival look a poor joke with no draw anymore?

If he lands a second #1 album here then the "no draw" argument isn't really going to fly. MTS didn't have one let alone two.
