All the best with this. All I can say as a bit of a binge drinker in the past is that about 10 yrs ago I had to cut back because of a blood disorder that forced me to change my drinking habits. That was inadvertantly a great change for me and I still enjoy a drink but with less quantity and cutting out a fair bit that I now realise was just routine/habit. Probably benefitted me mentally more than physically tbh. Good luck with it😉 As for Glastonbury generally, am by no means ultra fit but used to do a fair bit of running and more latterly cycling, and go to the gym a fair bit. Last year I found it fine as a 55 yo being out from 10am until the early hours each day (and stayed up at Worthy View last yr so a fair trek). There is lots of walking but it's broken up such that I don't really notice the miles build up. Deffo worth getting into the habit of walking if don't already before going (and in shoes you are going to wear at the festival).

YoaS @stuieis right you can celebrate more then once. Wifes 60th last year and we did loads of sh*t, including 3 festivals. It makes a lovely excuse. Enjoy the year -

Fair do’s. That’s a matter of opinion. I think it would sell out without being televised in the short term, but I would question whether it would have survived (certainly at its new massive scale). Would it have survived this long, paying the cheap rates, providing the charitable donations, with the 1,000s of volunteers, as an independent venture, still attracting the biggest acts in the world without a corporate sponsor through the Covid closures. That’s a bigger question to me than, would it sell out today with the rise in popularity of live events and an annual 3 day advert on the most popular tv channel in the country. Essentially, I suppose my belief is that the BBC partnership is the best of the available options. Continuing as it was simply wasn’t an option. -

The festival has been televised for far longer and far more frequently than it ever existed as untelevised event. If you think it ruined it then you're writing off 3/4s of its history.
