I’d certainly include the Stones, Elton, Arcade Fire & Stevie Wonder in my best of the Pyramid list, but slightly different, my favourite trio of headliners remains my first Glastonbury:
1. Radiohead 2003
2. REM 2003
3. Moby 2003
Haha I would have been Kendrick - Who I have seen since - (I recon ive seen BICEP more than 10 times at Glasto) Some of my friends know them so ive been on to them since they played 2PM Wow slots - great to follow the journey though
Excuse my ignorance, but (truly) asking for a friend. Is that for headliners? Four this year as opposed to the recent trend of having six? Or are two more expected to be announced?
Hahaha that made me laugh.
That Sunday was vintage. Didn't matter if you saw Kendrick, Pet Shop Boys or Bicep, don't know anyone who regretted their choice that night.
I missed 11 and 13 for career reasons and will always regret not seeing Beyonce and the Rolling Stones.
I think it's been a pretty strong year. Here are 10 great albums:
Fontaines DC - Romance
Jordan Rakei - The Loop
Vampire Weekend - Only God Was Above Us
Jamie XX - In Waves
Ezra Collective - Dance, No One's Watching
Laura Marling - Patterns in Repeat
Billie Eilish - Hit Me Hard and Soft
Michael Kiwanuka - Small Changes
Nick Cave - Wild God
Leon Bridges - Leon
Jessica Pratt - Here in the Pitch
A few standout songs: L'Amour de ma Vie by Billie Eilish, Things Behind Things Behind Things by Bon Iver, and I really liked Big Special's acoustic version of Black Dog/White Horse.
