sfroml
Was lucky enough to see Peter Hook the other week in Brooklyn, NYC. 2 cans of beer = $25.....
FuzzyDunlop
Moby at Manc Apollo - Very good. Had a bit of a lull when he did a slower "quieter" run. He asked the crowd 'was that too many quiet songs in a row?' As I think he felt the crowd got a bit restless. We are all made of stars was the surprising highlight. Johnny Cash 'Ring of Fire' Cover - strange. Support Act - Lady Blackbird. Incredible voice. The crowd... Annoying. A lot of talking. Including 1 bloke just telling someone how amazing Moby is very loudly during the quiet songs & 2 blokes nearly having a scrap. I'm working late tonight, so am anxious I am going to miss the start
nikkic
Saw Kiasmos at the Troxy last night. Not a venue I’d been to before, sound was pretty poor tbh. Was a decent enough gig but the slower more ambient parts of their set didn’t really translate well live.

Don1
Saw Moby myself last night - was very good. Love ‘Feeling So Real’. Big bug bearer of mine when people can’t be quiet for 3 mins when a slower song is on. Saw him headline Glasto in 2003, and whilst he’s not that level no more would love him to do another gig on the farm.

Just too many really quiet/acapella type songs for me where the gig chatterers could really be heard (thankfully they weren't too bad near us for most of the gig). But thankfully some great bangers as well. Didn't mind Ring of Fire as I'm a Johnny Cash fan. Worst part was journey back to Leeds with M62 closures and poor diversion signs doubling the journey time. blue6field
Was at the Sex Pistols with Frank Carter last night. Wasn’t sure what to expect and had a great night!! Cook, Jones and Matlock were superb, sounding great and Frank Carter is a brilliant front man! Energy in the place was incredible. Only on for an hour but certainly didn’t feel short changed!
NorthernSoul52
Paul Carrack in York weekend before last was good. Tight show - on at 8.20, done by 9.50, ticked off pretty much all you'd want to hear.
NorthernSoul52
Maximo Park played their new record in full last night in Leeds, with a trio of "rarities" for an encore. (Books from Boxes and Going Missing among them.) Was in very good spirits and some of the material deserves to stick around. There's one called Armchair View that's got a lovely little melody to it. Would be good fun at Glastonbury in the Woodsies Tent
Gnomicide
I was also at the Manc gig last night, loads of fun. Frank really upped the energy from what it could have been, the band were clearly having a great time, as we're the crowd. 20240924_210937.mp4 20240924_221013.mp4
Gnomicide
Battlesnake at Birkenhead Future Yard last night. Tremendous fun, unfortunately not many there but that didn't stop them putting on a great show. Apart from the fun and frolics on and off the stage, it's really interesting how they set it up. No monitors (not unusual these days with in ear monitors) but also no amps and pedal boards etc. on stage. They were clearly playing everything live (bar a few keyboard and spoken word bits) but I was fascinated about how it works. Anyway, still a few shows to go, highly recommended, tickets are cheap.
NorthernSoul52
Ezra Collective really are tight as a Yorkshireman on a cruise. Top drawer in Leeds last night.
NorthernSoul52
Real Estate last night in Leeds were solid, but felt they were upstaged by Far Caspian in support. Only a half-hour slot, but they just seemed to lock into something more direct and effective with their soundscapes.
Quark
Thoroughly enjoyed the LPO in Brighton last night. First classical concert I've been to, completely different experience. Really start to appreciate the complexity of having that many instruments working together to create some fantastic sounds. Plus, no talkers 😂 sh*t photo, but I decide that trying to stand up and get a decent shot midway through would probably be frowned upon... Saw them supporting Black Crowes, they were quite a fun act but didn't seem to know how to finish a song, as in, they just sort of petered out, leaving the crowd a little confused if they should applaud or not. It wasn't really an issue, we just thought it was funny when it kept happening.
