Think he played 90 odd full album shows on that tour and only 3 of them were Darkness.

I was at this around the same time. Think you can even hear me laughing in delight when he announces it.

Sweden a great place to see Bruce btw. Rock show.

Echo this. Gothenburg #2 last year strangely ranks bottom of my Springsteen gig list - done five - but that's like saying your bar of gold isn't as good as your other bars of gold because it is a bit dusty.

Ben Howard at the O2 Academy Leeds last night. A very good performance, with some excellent atmospherics to feature, but the venue remains a problem when a gig is at capacity. There's going to be a crush there one day.

When I went to see Darius Rucker there, it was uncomfortably overly full. Someone did actually tweet Darius just before the show started and was called out by him from the stage for moaning about a sold out gig, which wasn’t great from Darius.

Poor form from the artist, that. Genuine concerns to be had.

They should have downstairs capped at 1,500, then 2,000 for the whole joint. From an artist's perspective, it'll still be packed up to the overhang, and you can't see beyond that anyway.

Going to see this Dublin singer in Galway on 31st October she's also playing venues in the UK, Rachael Lavelle, very good music kinda storytelling and thoughts with beats and some angelic singing.  Have saw her twice this year at Beyond the Pale and All Together Now festivals in Ireland.

Alice Cooper is still reliably daft fun these days. If anyone is off to the tour closers in London - I assume they're sold out, but you never know - then it is a hoot, especially if you can get tix on the relative cheap side.

Unlike some other acts with a triple-guitar attack, there isn't too much difference in tone among his players, but nor is every song flattened into one sound.

The gimmicks remain great fun though. A bit pared back from previous years, but still immensely silly. Took a mate who's never really listened to Cooper along - ended up with a spare literally the hour before - and he had a blast. Bought his first ever tour shirt at a gig, he loved it that much.

I'm having a bit of a gig lull at the moment, which is rare for me.

Seeing Fontaines four times before the end of the year though (I know, I know); Madrid, Manchester x2, Dublin. Cannot wait, off the back of that Park Stage set.

Also really looking forward to watching Royel Otis again. Caught them a few months back and they were brilliant

I saw him a couple of years ago on the tour he did with The Cult - immense fun and would go down a storm on the farm. Casuals would probably know 3 or 4 songs and even if they didn't it's still very entertaining. Can't see it happening though given Eavii's obvious reluctance to book classic rock (apart from the odd one now and again)

I’m for this! One of the first gigs I ever attended was AC at Greens playhouse

( became the Apollo )Glasgow, 1972. Absolute bedlam, folk standing on balcony parapet, rows of seats reduced to firewood, Alice just lapping up the crazy pissed up audience, most were more drunk than he was.  Air thick with fag and dope smoke.  A nice evening’s entertainment for this impressionable schoolboy ! 😉

There's a great subset you could tap, but I think quite a few would be wanting a price higher than they'd take.

Cooper, oddly, is probably not one of them. He'd just take it as a challenge.

Ah, the seventies. Glad I missed them some days, and others? Not so much.

I saw Public Service Broadcasting last night at Manchester Albert Hall. Really good gig.

They kept almost every track short and snappy (bar one awesome exception), which seemed a shame but did allow them to cram a packed set in.

Spot on mix of the epic recorded voiceover clips they are most famous for and beautiful live vocals, plus a great brass section.

One of my favourite venues too!

Went to see Divorce at Birkenhead Future Yard last night. Excellent show, probably the most 6 Music crowd I've ever been in, I think they are destined for big things once the album comes out in March.

Support was from Oscar Browne. He was quite interesting, good sound from him and his mate but maybe not the tunes to warrant further investigation.

Ooo I'm considering but am yet to commit to seeing these guys at Aylesbury Waterside on Halloween.

Recordings sounded decent but good to know it delivered in the room on the night.

Would seal it for me if they played Sputnik as that was always one of my favourites of theirs and they didn't have time for it at Truck Festival 5 years ago.

They did indeed play Sputnik!  Quite a few from The Race for Space in there too…

Also saw PSB - what a show.   I was not sure the crowd warmed too much to the new album stuff - Perhaps it was released a bit to close to the gig itself and people might need more time. but that asside. 10/10 for there performance.  Its a real show.

The Otherside brought tense Drama to the crowd i though it was great to build into GO that went absolutely wild. Everest at the end was a spectacular way to end a show.   Last time I saw them was actually Glastonbury 2013 which was very barebones. Great to see how the show has developed.

Bonus points for the Albert Hall staff who were on it by walking though the crowd before they came on, asking people to step forward a few steps to fill the space and avoid the inevitable crust at the back of the gig.   Having been to gigs at the Albert hall before where you go to the toilet and then have to fight your way though dense crowd formed blocking the doorways to the venues with people at the back getting grumpy about it, its a big improvement.

If I had to put them in a slot at Glastonbury it would have to be on the Truth/Peace stage after dark

I also really enjoyed the PSB show on Friday. Really tight set and Nera is a great addition (who the Friday night Manchester crowd really appreciated). Would've liked to have seen more dancing from the audience but given the audience they attract maybe I was asking too much (husband, for E.g., didn't even take his coat off. He managed to crack out a little head bop for Go and Everest... Then proclaimed it his gig of the year).

Also saw Four Tet on Saturday in Manchester, full review on the E&D thread, but really in a quandary about where he goes on the farm now. Too big for his old sets, too niche for main stages, needs a longer slot to really show off. Interesting one.
