The roar when he played the first few chords of Seventeen Going Under was what it's all about. It really went off - everyone joining in a massive singalong.

Still find it strange he isn't headlining a main stage one night - if he keeps on like this and brings out another hit album, surely its only a matter of time.

This is what I'm excited about for sunday. I saw Sam in a pub venue 4 years back. Gonna be mental at the arena with most people seeing him for the first time.

I think they're playing the long game with Sam. If he headlines the Other now, he'll probably won't be back for a while. A lower slot on the Other, and he can come back and headline the Pyramid next year or the one after.

I was at that too. Agree that sound was a bit dodgy at start but overall a great gig

You are right to be excited - you will love it.

I also saw him 4 years back in Dec 2018 - 3rd on the bill supporting Snow Patrol in Belfast - it is brilliant to see how far he has come since then.

Foo Fighters, brilliant three times in 2005, 2017 and 2019 😢

Brilliant on the Pymild 2017, and saw them in Stratford 2018 where they were equally good playing virtually the same set. Atmosphere wasn’t quite the same, obviously.

Lucy Dacus at O2 Forum last night, so so good and a great crowd who were singing along with all the songs, really great night. And a proper encore - not just the remainder of the set - a cover of Dancing in the Dark and a song so new that it was just her + guitar as the band didn't know it.

Fenne Lily provided excellent support.

Not a gig but I went to the Stonehenge exhibition at the British Museum earlier in the day - absolutely amazing, highly recommended.

Hope you have a great time!

Just saw on his Instagram story that tonight "this one's for Taylor". Sure that a lot of shows going on tonight will be paying respect in some way.

Just back for Sam Fender. Sold out Glasgow Hydro and he absolutely nailed it. We were standing in the seated area, too old now for the mosh pit! He even stopped mid song to stop a fight that had started near the stage.  If he puts in a performance like he did tonight at Glastonbury it will be one to watch. And some nice words about Taylor and there goes my Hero played after the gig finished.

Going to see Lucy tonight in Brighton, cannot wait!

Saw Royal Blood in Birmingham last night. Crowd was up for it - was out at the side yet genuinely felt the floor shaking at times from people moshing. If I'm honest, I genuinely think Chvrches the week before we louder, though that's most likely because I was idiotically stood by the speaker at that one and just getting a barrage of noise into my left ear. The stuff from Typhoons sounds great live.

Some nice touches in tribute to Taylor as well. They had an image of him with Royal Blood's drummer during the solo that now ends Little Monster, the show was dedicated to him, The Amazons played a lengthy cover of My Hero (only of the ones of theirs I caught) and there was a lot of Foos stuff played before RB began. I can see this news having been difficult for them to process tbf - last time I saw Royal Blood was before Foo Fighters in Milton Keynes 7 years ago, plus they toured with them a lot before that.

Went to see Liam G at the Royal Albert Hall last night for the TCT gig.

Have to admit I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised at how good he sounds these days. A massive cry from the later days of Oasis where he was almost of Ian Brown levels of tunelessness. You can see he’s really worked on his vocals since going solo and it’s really showing. Played plenty of early Oasis stuff as you’d expect.

His band sounded much tighter too. Recall seeing him support the Stones just as he was starting out solo and they were all over the place. Last night they sounded good, pretty much identical to Oasis, which is all you need.

All in all a good night.

Even though I will be seeing him twice more over the next 3 months, I couldn't resist bagging a few last minute tickets for Sam Fender last night in the 3 Arena in Dublin.  He was absolutely fantastic - I expected it to be good and he did not disappoint.  Cracking atmosphere - first big gig for me since Feb 2020 and boy was it good to be back at a big show and things feeling completely normal.  He came out with some big hitters - Will We Talk / Getting Started / Dead Boys (which I love) and it kept up all the way though.  The back end though was immense.  The run from The Dying Light through to the encore with Saturday, Seventeen Going Under and  Hypersonic Missiles was one of the best ends to a show I have heard.  The roar when he played the first few chords of Seventeen Going Under was what it's all about. It really went off - everyone joining in a massive singalong.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts from Monday in Liverpool. Amazing gig and can't wait to see him in the Glastonbury setting

Similar to Leeds fest for me- glad he's continuing this good form into 2022. Going to the Etihad in June - my brother hasn't seen him and wishes he'd been old enough for Oasis so he'll get a good show by the sounds of it

Saw Self Esteem Friday at the Octagon Sheffield.  I’ve listened to the album a fair bit but hadn’t seen her live before.  I was absolutely blown away.. she’s so good.  Brilliant atmosphere with it being the home crowd too.  Will definitely be there for her Glastonbury set.

Went to see The Who as part of the TCT gigs on Friday night. It was billed as an acoustic show but Roger and Pete were accompanied by a full backing band, including a percussionist, accordian player, violinist, additional guitars, keys, etc. It was a fun show, albeit a few technical issues, at least two restarts and one repeated song cos Rog didn't think he did it justice. Because of that it felt a relatively short set, particularly with extended chat and setup between songs. A sprinkling of hits mixed in with a few more esoteric numbers for the die-hards but the acoustic arrangements for tunes famously amplified and electric were really well done, particularly Baba O' Riley, which got the biggest audience reaction.

There was one awkward moment when Roger was carrying out the customary introduction of the backing band, referring to the violin as a fiddle, to which the guy put him straight. "Oh yeah" said, Rog. "This band's already got enough fiddlers in it". Pete stayed noticeably silent and they hastily launched into the next number.

Skunk Anansie were ELECTRIC at Brixton Academy last night. Skin at her ferocious/ sweet/ raucous best. You know what to expect when the opening track is 'Yes it's F**king Political'...

Nice!! I’m really looking forward to seeing them at Glasto. I don’t actually know that much about them other than their most popular songs. But a segment on the Glastonbury’s Greatest Headliners documentary had them forming a song and it was incredible!!

So I’m hoping it will be one of those sets where I go in knowing little but come out loving it!

I still remember Pete Townsend banging on about inventing the internet when he played in 2007.

Now we know why he invented it...

Bloody fantastic isn't she. Now I have my Glastonbury tickets I'm thinking I'll most likely end up seeing her again.
