I'm seeing him in Manchester on Wednesday but trying to work out what train I might be able to get home after... Exactly 1.5 hrs pal.
K2SO
I saw Charli XCX play her album How I'm Feeling Now at Lafayette in London last night. I'm still mad she didn't win the Mercury Prize for that album.

Really looking forward to it, and that should mean we'll be able to get a sensible(-ish) train home, assuming he's not on late.

fred quimby
2 gigs at the weekend. First was Sholmo for kids which I took my great nephews to (5 and 7) we learnt how to become superstar Beatboxers. Real fun and man he is good, have seen him before at festivals. He had his Glastonbury t-shirt on so we had a little chat about that. Had not realised he had been out for a while with mental health issues so good to see him back and he was saying he was in a much better place Sunday I went to Self Esteem at rough trade records. Unfortunately poor Rebecca had some kind of cold thing so was not able to sing normally. Did 4 songs in the end with all at the low range end. Was acoustic guiters with 2 backing vocalists and they did stripped back versions with harmoney singing. What we got was very good and nice to hear the songs that way. Quite a bit of banter as while. No talking to her after though as she needed to rest her voice so only able to speak to the person she was with as we got our Vinyl signed. Forgot to ask about Glastonbury but assume she will be there. Both were 1pm shows which was nice. Sunday SE started at 2 and we were back in the car by 2.50 going home. Quite liked that 🙂 . No support, though we got it just before he was on stage and I did what I usually do at that venue. Trip in the dark on the single step up to the bar.
parsonjack
Fontaines DC at Bath Forum this evening. Electric. If you can get a ticket for remaining dates on this tour you won't regret it.

They did nothing wrong per se, I just realised they weren't for me in intensity for that amount of time. Monotonous shouting. You see that's the weird thing when it comes to the 'shouting'......Idles do nothing for me but your man from FDC does. But why...who knows.

Jay Pee
I find shouty appreciation is quite proportionate to booze intake. Drove to see Fontaines DC on the 2019 tour and thought it was a good show. Saw them in Manchester the other week with a load of neck oil and ended up in the mosh pit having the time of my life. See I don't drink ever so it's not that for me. I like some shouty bands and equally really don't like some others. I think the 2nd Fontaines album is better than the first so that could also be a factor.

ClementsMike
I've got tickets for Sleaford Mods coming up, which I 'think' is a different shouting, so I think I will enjoy more? Maybe I bought the wrong tickets dreaming of a future when lockdown was harsh? 😄
