New BMTH album. Thoughts guys?

After 2 listens. Don’t think it’s anything special. No real standouts for me. Think the previous releases of Lost and Kool-Aid will remain the best tracks however it’s possible it changes after I’ve listened to it more. Yours?

I’ve enjoyed it. There’s some good stuff on there. Its a bit too much at times but yeah, I think it’s very good. Maybe showing some influences a bit too much at times too.

Whilst I really enjoyed the new songs (plus all the existing singles), my first listen through really wasn’t as enjoyable as I’d hoped. I think it’s because of how long some of the singles have been out. I mean, the first was what, 2021? It felt slightly disjointed, going from a song I’d never heard before into a song I’ve played probably 100s of times. It felt like the album lacked a cohesive flow, even though the songs all vaguely fit the same theme. I do also wonder if the whole 4 EPs project has been abandoned and this explains the delay.

Whole point of the EP thing was for them to get stuff out quickly and it’s now been the longest time between major releases, and they’ve also lost a member in the process. Be kind of weird if they decide to resurrect that idea at this point - I think they’ll just get back to an album every three or so years.

This makes me realise how little new music I’ve listened to this year. Ah well, always 2025 and maybe I’ll be able to compile a list then haha.

I will concur that Romance is a cracking album and after trying to get into Fontaines D.C. for some time I think it’s the album that finally did it for me.

girl in red had a new album out this year!? I didn’t even know about that. I really enjoyed her last album and have played it quite a lot in the years since.

It just came out of nowhere. I really liked it, although I do prefer the first record.

It’s unbelievable. I’ve never heard an album quite like it. It is mesmerising.

There will be a festival that has no problem booking them.

I dunno which festival it would be

2000 trees I very highly doubt it but despite what went on would be a perfect headliner for them.

Can't see them at Slamdunk

And Download don't want piss too many people off and sponsors

Outbreak? No idea

I don’t think Slam Dunk would turn them down. I could see DL going for them too.

Can’t ever see Outbreak going for them. Completely goes against the ethics of that festival / sub culture.
