I’ve been having a disagreement with the Wife that needs settling:

Say we get a repeat of 2019 weather wise are you:

A) Team Crocs

B) Team flip flop

C) Team sandals

D) Team trainer / hiking boot

I’m Team Crocs but not sure if at the age of 33 that’s acceptable. Wife tells me it isn’t.

Don't options A, B and C leave your feet exposed to being trodden on to fuck as soon as you're anywhere near a crowd?

Flip flops...but the toilets would be a concern.

D. Your feet still need support.

Running/walking shoes are the best for hot weather + big walking days.

@FuzzyDunlop this won't be the answer to all your problems by any means, but have you ever tried these?

You can get them from discount beauty stores like Bodycare. This brand is different to the cooling sprays sold in places like Poundland as it has more than just water in it so it feels cooler. I'm guessing it has something that speeds up the evaporation? Boots and Superdrug do their own versions but I prefer this one.

My brain shuts down in high heat (like on holiday, or a festival abroad) and I get totally grumpy and useless to everyone, but a blast of this on my face and neck and wrists gives a temporary pick me up at least. It does feel really refreshing and it leaves behind some wetness that then evaporates and cools you down a bit more.

Couldn’t think of worse footwear for the amount of walking you have to do at Glasto! No support or cushioning.

I have worn them to every Glastonbury Festival since 1993 and for me, they are the perfect footwear in dry weather. I find them comfy, cushioning and supportive. By the end of each day, my feet are totally fine. they are a very tried and trusted method for me.

Still hiking boots for me. D

Crocs are appalling, and the only people allowed to wear them are nurses and doctors.

flip-flops are also awful and only acceptable when using showers at municipal sports facilities. Anyone wearing flip flops in a bar restaurant should be tossed out, because they are essentially bare footed.

As with @Wilfkomy feet hurt merely at this idea, but then they are very old

Flip flops at camp. Trainers out and about. Crocs should be cast into hell.

The problem with open shoes is the stones and dust if it’s dry. I have worn walking sandals before when it’s hot but it’s annoying getting grit under your feet!
crocs might be ok to slip on to go to loos in morning though
