Would still be a massive stage, but have far fewer tourists turning up "because it's the main headliner". I wasn't there in 2010 but have heard reports of the mass exodus and the show not quite connecting. I can kinda see why with the dip in the setlist after DARE as well. Saw them 3 times on the Humanz/The Now Now of touring I'm 2017/18 and they were awesome. Would be a proper Pyramid-sized Other headliner. I don't think there was a huge falling out per se, more a parting of ways of where Glastonbury was headed and the kinds of festivals the Levs wanted to be playing. They're definitely not averse to playing elsewhere, but I don't think Glastonbury is top of their list. 2010 was the 40th, so might be something they did / would do for a big event type one. Dependency on UK acts rather than potentially putting too many overseas eggs in the basked might be a factor. I wouldn't be amazed to see them back, but nor is it something I'd really expect. maelzoid
Rod I can see as a legend, but Stevie and NY still seem like headliners to me. NY especially I just don't see in that crowd-pleasing play-the-hits kind of space. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't most legends also festival debuts? It feels like part of their legendary status is that they somehow have never played before.

I think we've never seen anyone returning as the legend slot is still relatively new. Assuming it continues that'll probably change over time. Ray Davies wasn't a debut - in fact he played a much better set the year before headlining the Acoustic Tent. Tom Jones had played previously before as well. Although to be fair Tom Jones's first appearance was arguably the first "legend" set, before it settled down into its modern slot. He played the Sunday, in a fairly early slot for his stature.
