65k but a bunch of those are some level of VIP. Everyone else except Blackpink has shifted theirs I think, that includes Billy Joel, Pink, Bruce, Take That. I think Pink has sold out two dates. Obviously it's not everything, and the Glasto tickets sell themselves, they don't need to convince people to buy them. But it is an indicator of how big a legacy act currently is.

I wouldn't complain, I'll just go elsewhere, and I don't think it's a necessarily "bad" booking. They are still one of the biggest hard rock bands of all time no matter what anyone thinks. But in 2022, it just strikes me as strange.

They'll be an average headliner at best.  I can imagine 65k being a struggle for them, most of that crowd will have seen them already.  Like I said, if glasto played metal earlier they'd of played decades ago and they might be able to look at fresher acts in the genre now.  Hopefully they manage to get a buzz of anticipation, I'm looking forward to seeing what the other options are, and if they do manage to be an average headliner then that's not half bad 🙂

Peabo Bryson ticks all the boxes.

100k hands waving to this, people in tears.

If this was 10 years ago I'd have really wanted to take a look at your iPod Nal.  I mean, I pride myself on having a decent internal catalogue of forgotten hits, but you're knocking it out of the park.

Yep it's quite the collection of songs I had forgotten I knew 😄

I don't really get the excitement of the Spice Girls. Maybe they are my Duran Duran band, ie not cool when they were big and I was 16 trying to be ''cool'', not cool when they weren't cool. For some reason cool/kitsch now. But the Spice Girls. Can't ever get that cool/kitsch feeling. Probably just me. I may be biased, met them at work, Not particularly nice (other bigger stars were very kind,,,, it is possible) and they liked Thatcher, that is always gonna hurt with my generation. Completely ignorant.  Hated the ''girl power'' stuff (aimed at 8 year olds not 27 year olds to be fair) and I didn't like their pop songs. I like lots of pop songs. What I do know is there will not be a single person from my 2 sons (mixed gender) group going to see them. Mind you, I was staggered at the amount of people who went to see Kylie. Lovely person though. Spice girls? mmm. Sorry to be a bit negative

Is Emily likes GnR, Emily booked GnR that far fetched? I always circle back to that out of the blue comment when I doubt the rumour. I'm sure it's happening.

No not really, it wouldn't be a "shocking" headliner just a bit surprising. Although at this point I've already cemented it in my head and it gives me a free pass to another stage.

It's not just you. For all the complaints about how GnR don't fit the festival, for me they come a hell of a lot closer than The Spice Girls. I'm not going to be too vocal about it because it seems plenty would be excited if they played, but if I could somehow create and enforce a list of "never to be booked" acts, they'd definitely be on it and fairly high up at that.

I thorougly reject the notion that Guns and Roses are a metal band.

Yes I am happy for bands I don't want to see at the pyramid which can be a bit of a slog to get to anyway but I would rather see GnR than the Spice Girls. I don't want to see GnR. Anyway, not complaining about either band being there just a bit bemused I guess

So we have Elton, guns and roses and the spice girls as headliners/legends. Is this all a dream/nightmware and we've woken up 20 years ago ? they'll be wheeling on the cast from Dallas next.

Couldn’t afford Dallas but maybe go British and get Howard’s  Way😉
