Some acts aren't legend slot acts. Some are borderline (Roxy Music, ELO).  And some are firmly in the legend act demographic. Rod is the latter and the 'I dont know the songs' thing is on the individual.

That's said, I'd still be surprised if he wants to appear lower down the bill than Elton.

I was thinking that, they are contemporaries, and back in the day they were equally successful. It would depend if Rod was prepared to be seen as, for want of a better phrase, second best.

I think the Rod Elton thing is hugely overblown, Rod must know he’s no longer a headliner, he’s not even close anymore. The Legend slot is hardly slumming it, as it gets so much exposure. It would be one hell of an act of self sabotage to refuse that slot just because Elton was playing later on. Anybody that stupid wouldn’t deserve the slot anyway.

True. I think a lot of the feud stuff is tongue in cheek and any other year it wouldn't matter. But on the same day would be the 70s dadrock equivalent of taking the knee.

He's always got the fact that he headlined twenty years before Reg. The teatime slot is widely considered the fourth major

She’ll be 49 by that time of the festival, which is a year younger than Kylie when she did it, so not really too young.

I said earlier on in the thread there are lot of 90s female pop stars they could turn to like this that would fit the bill, in so much as Kylie fitted it.

From that list, Gloria Estefan is someone I’d never considered, but it might help shut Suprefan up if they booked a Latin artist in a prominent slot.

Sadly it looks like she hasn’t toured for 15 years.
