We’re on the left of this photo, and I think you can see how happy we are to be properly together again.

Honestly finding it so hard to describe how sad I am to hear about the loss of Taylor Hawkins, one of the most incredible drummers in my favourite band. Absolutely broken and shocked. My thoughts go out to his family and band members. We love you Taylor 🖤

I'm very rarely lost for words but I totally feel that way with this news. Such an icon in the music industry and one of the best drummers of all time without a doubt. I was about 6 when The Pretender was released and I've loved then ever since. Taylor is an irreplaceable loss for the band and my thoughts are with his family, the foos and all their fans today

Utterly shocked by this tragic news.  The Foos back on the pyramid in 17 was rightly voted gig of the year and His unforgettable rendition of under pressure was great. Devastating news.

This is indeed very sad news. As the “second best drummer in Foo Fighters” he was indeed a great musician, but I find it tough to think of a more charismatic performer to sit behind the drums. I was fortunate enough to see him with the band on a few occasions, including twice on the pyramid stage. He always played with such energy, enthusiasm and gratitude. Feeling now like I may have taken them a bit for granted…

What bloody terrible news. 😢 Like lots of you have said, it’s genuinely shocking… 50 is still so young really. 

Foo Fighters were literally the soundtrack of my teenage years and uni. I was into them right from the beginning, I had a truly pathetic attempt at a band with some mates and remember thrashing out Big Me, This is a Call and I’ll Stick Around in someone’s uncle’s barn. 

Obviously that was before Taylor joined. When he did coincided with my first exposure to music videos and the video for Learn to Fly will always be one of my faves. Of course Dave was the main character but even just from that video it was obvious how much humour and good spirit Taylor brought to the band; alongside rocking out very seriously of course.

I only got to see the Foos once, at Reading in 2012. That remains one of the most memorable years of my life: got married, London Olympics and a lot more - and that show was the absolute perfect highlight to close out the summer. The band were on top form - I think it was just before they went on a short hiatus and they were determined to put it all into their last gig. I still get shivers remembering the opening riff of Everlong from that night…

I’ll always regret I didn’t have tickets for Glastonbury in 2017 - I don’t normally watch live performances from the festival if I’m not there cos it makes me sad, but I couldn’t miss that - what a show. 

Others have said much better than I could what a great drummer Taylor was and how much he brought to the band. He’ll be deeply missed not just by Foo Fighters but for rock music in general. 😢
