Entering festival via Worthy View but staying onsite

Hiya

I have friends who are staying at WV and am getting a lift with them. However I am not staying in WV.  I am going to camp on the site.

Does anyone know if I will need to be dropped off at a different location or if I can travel all the way with them to the WV camp site and pick up a wrist band and enter via the Pennard hill gate?

If no one knows can you advise on the best contact to ask?

many thanks for your help in advance and apologies for a full question

Previous years (but this may not be the same this year, of course) they did not have general entry wristbands to issue at the entrance to WV.  This is because they use a different process for getting in and out of the festival proper at Pennards rather than the standard pass out method (this also causes problems for those who want to take a non-WV person back to 'see their tent'...)

Rumour is that there might be QR codes on wristbands this year instead of pass-outs, but no-one (apart from a  few staff, who know to keep quiet) will know that for sure before they arrive at the site.  I suggest that you plan to get dropped off at the drop-off point.  Make them carry all your beer though...

Yeah as per the previous post, you wont be able to do that (imagine people bypassing the queues that way if you could!)

So i think options are:

  • Getting dropped off at the drop off point
  • Getting the shuttle from the WV car park back to the coach station and Gate A - the bus driver might look confused as people won't usually be doing that on the first few days, but it should be there somewhere.
  • If the group your going with have "capacity" in their tent (e.g. a couple in a 4 person bell) they register you for one of their EPO/WV wristbands even though you wont actually be staying in their tent.

One of my friends comes each year with people in their car who do WV but he camps on the main part of the site with us and he does exactly what I’ve highlighted in bold.
