ashcombe park field

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me anymore info on this site? Is it just a field to park in or can you sleep in your motorhome overnight? Do you know if they have water points or anywhere to empty grey waste? I know it says they have some shower and toilet facilities but I understand these may be at an extra cost or limited? Has anyone pitched here and it is worth it and the walk?

thanks

I have parked there twice because it is much easier to get in and out of than the official car parks. It is a field, but there is a shower and toilet block, I think you have to pay a few quid to use the shower. Loads of people park there, but there are also tents and caravans/motorhomes if I remember correctly, but not space for many. From the field, it is probably about a 20 min walk to Gate D, depending on the weather and if you can cut across the field and through the hedge over the stream.

I would email and see if they have space left for a motorhome and what water facilities they have, I didn't need to use them so have never checked.

Yes, I've mentioned in other posts that I contacted them as I thought i may be there this year, however it turns out I've got a pre-erected tent in Sticklinch instead.

I found a couple of previous posts in here recommending them for parking, contacted them and asked them about staying there.  They confirmed to me:-
"You don't have to have CV pass
You will be able to empty loo and there is water on site             (to fill up the van)
It's about 10 min as we have a cut through to Gate D"

This seems a bit of a no brainer for parking as it is actually cheaper than the Glastonbury car park pass? Or do you still need one to get that close anyway? (I bought one with my ticket anyway) Only problem I can see is I have no idea what car I’ll be taking but it won’t be my own as it’s too small, but their website says if you change your car you might not gain entry.
