Yoghurt on a Stick
7 hours ago, Ayrshire Chris said: One big regret I have is when I sold my copy of the Glastonbury Fayre triple album back in the early seventies. Sold it through an advert in melody maker for a fiver. It was the first pressing and in mint condition. Really needs the cash! Tracks from Bowie,Gong, Hawkwind, Pink Fairies etc. The sleeve contained a booklet, poster and a fold up pyramid. Collectors item now, wonder who bought it from me. I remember posting it to Derby! Just had a look on line; https://www.amazon.com/Live-Glastonbury-Festival-June-1971/dp/B0CGTLGNRL
Spindles
I was a record collector in my youth, but when the kids came along I sold off much of my collection. At the end I had 2 boxes remaining, one of which was mostly worthless remnants I'd not yet sold and one of which was collectables to be saved to be sold years down the line. My ex accidentally gave the wrong box to my in-laws when they were doing a boot sale.

It could be worse - you could be the bloke whose girlfriend threw out the wrong bag off the landing - the one bag with 7,200 Bitcoins on a hard drive within it. Straight to a council tip. Ouch! BlackZeppelin
I bought this album about 35 years ago intrigued by the cover art.
Mash2
If you are into album art, look up the documentary "Squaring the Circle: The Story of Hipgnosis". Great show that was running on Netflix. Lots of great info on how some of the all time classic 60s/70s/80s album covers were created. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10850264/

Yoghurt on a Stick
I 'received' this from a gay mate yesterday. Thought I'd share. Oh btw - I don't mean literally. Although one would wonder given a previous post on another thread earlier. Than now, that is.
westholtschic
One my best mates, who came to the farm for the first time with me this year and loved it. He did the artwork for John Mayer and the Kings of Leon album covers. Edited October 12 by westholtschic
Ayrshire Chris
The 70s were the the heyday of the intricate gatefold sleeve and other innovations. Spontaneous Combustion were a Bournemouth based prog rock band produced I think by Greg Lake .this was one of their gatefolds
Ayrshire Chris
Alice Coopers schools out album sleeve was designed like an old style school desk. And the disc was wrapped in a pair of pants. I’ve had this album since it’s release over 50 years ago but honestly can’t remember what I did with the pants😊😊😊😉😉😉. I understand it was eventually discontinued in this form as the pants were deemed in contravention of fire regulations
henry bear
His Billion Dollar Babies album cover was great too - it was die-cut into the shape of a wallet, and came with a large folded billion dollar note, amongst other stuff. Top prime Alice music too

Considering the fact that the album was mostly bought at that time by teenage boys (as I was)you can imagine why not many exist. 😉
Dales
A true classic. Below is a real classic for me and have always been a fan of their imagery from the first few singles like Serpents Kiss, Garden of Delight onwards.. Always loved the The Smith album cover's aswell. I have always found it neat when an artist has a consistant theme or style to their covers. Does anyone do that anymore?
westholtschic
Still my favourite Album cover ever
