Country Music at Glasto 2022

The latest Big Thief album is the most Americana-type thing they’ve done. And is also probably my album of the year so far along with Black Country New Road.

Yes that’s a good one .  Since it’s a thread on country music then it’s appropriate to that genre for me to say that Mrs C picked a track, the long journey, from that album for her funeral. I’ve opted for Frank turner’s eulogy.    I assume Robert Plant will as usual throw in a few Zep songs.

The War and Treaty gotta mix of Americana, soul, blues and are absolutely wonderful… I got to see them in the Grand Ole Opry a few years back, was breathtaking

Yola is apperently ' The Queen of Country Soul' in Nashville right now. Check out her stuff, a lot of Country style songs on offer.

First Aid Kit, Big Thief, Shires.  Not strictly Country but definitely the same vibe.  First Aid Kit in particular are a big fave in our house.

Roseanne Reid (on the Acoustic). From Scotland but country-ish.  Album produced by Teddy Thompson, includes duet with Steve Earle.  Apparently she toured with Justin Townes Earle.

Also Jesse Dayton on Strummerville.  Americana/country.

Is Maren Morris playing at Glasto in 2023? I know she is touring with The Chicks who are playing Glasto. Going to see her and them for the first time in Cardiff this year.
