Old glastonbury ID photo and the signs of aging

ISNOTTROPICAL

Recommended Posts

Despite constant reminders I've been a bit lazy and never got round to updating the photo associated with my glastonbury ID.

This has been compounded by the COVID delay and associated lockdown weight gain, resulting in a photo that's about 10 years old.

If this was an online dating profile it would be heading into catfish territory.

What precautions can I take to make sure I don't get turned away at the gate? Bring the kitchen sink of ID (passport and driving licence)? Login to facebook to show the aging process in real time?

Any tips or reassurance gratefully received.

My friend got checked for this a few years back.  She no longer looked like her photo.  They took her into a security tent and asked some questions to verify her identity.  I don't think it's fair to say what she was asked (as I don't want to muck with security), but fair to say if all your other registration details are up to date, you should be able to answer their questions.  But yes, having photos on hand of you aging is never going to be a bad plan and you'll need ID on you anyway as you are subject to ID checks at Glasto.  Again, probably a good plan to make sure the details on your ID match those on your registration.

In 2017 a friend of mine got his ticket through the post and half of the photo was missing...was like something had gone wrong with downloading the image, stopped halfway but the ticket got signed off as fine and got sent.

On the Weds morning at PGC we were going through and the stewards seemed to be aware of it as they shouted 'another one' and my mate wasn't allowed through and had to go to the the portacabin and there were loads of others who had the same problem.

Thought he would be through quickly, but got grilled by security for about 20 mins to prove who he was etc, problem is he doesn't drive or even have a provisional and didn't have his passport on him either so they were on the phone to see tickets office in Nottingham (I think) asking him loads of questions, eventually they let him through but it wasn't the best start to the festival!
