Paddington Train Experience

Usually drive, but we are getting the first train out from Paddington instead this year (at 7.15 am).

From people's experience, do they only let people with a ticket for the 7.15 train get on it? Or is there just a general queue where they shove everyone with a ticket to Castle Cary on the first train available?

We will get there early but don't want to be in a situation where people have been camping out all night and end up getting a train later in the day.

When I did it a few years ago, pretty sure they put you on whatever the next train was going to Castle Cary. The train was pretty quiet when it left London, got busier further along the route - I think a lot of people got on at Reading.
