trnsmt 2023

Got bored and decided to chuck together a list of potential headliners for next year:

Kasabian-New album out and very popular with Scottish crowds.

Noel Gallagher-Has said he’ll release a new album next year.

Gorillaz-Have a new album out early next year, unsure if they’d fit in at TRNSMT though.

Pulp-Confirmed they are touring next year but also remains to be seen wether they would fit in at TRNSMT.

Courteeners-Have already announced a date for a St Jude anniversary gig with presumably more to come however they are also rumoured to be playing Murrayfield which would effectively rule them out.

George Ezra-Has played TRNSMT twice before, released a new album this year and is a safe choice for the usual “mainstream pop” headliner.

Dave-Recently headlined R&L, would be a bit of a left-field pick however TRNSMT have had a grime artist headline in the past so it is plausible even if unlikely.

Kasabian subbed by Noel G would be a strong day that would sell well. Can’t imagine there’s any chance he’ll headline outright.

Apart from that I’ve no idea.

Pulp? Gerry Cinnamon? Biffy?

Tbf Noel headlined Isle Of Wight in 2019 which is a similarly sized festival so it’s not implausible to say he could headline

Not a clue who does this tbh. Guessing based on the reaction to the fake one that it isn’t any of those 3. Can rule out Arctic Monkeys and Muse based on their bellahouston  shows.

Tbh I wouldn’t even be that shocked if they get Sam fender back to headline even tho he has subbed 2 years running.

I don’t think pulp fit in here at all. Noel isn’t big enough any more imo. Kasabian maybe but that’s pretty underwhelming.

Noel with a support like Foals could without a doubt headline.

not sure how likely Gorillaz are if the Blur gigs happen

Blur is 2024 for parklife 30 years, while gorillaz just released a song with tame impala. i reckon gorillaz will be about next year

Think they might have got Sam Fender back to headline the more I think about it

Aye, I can’t think of many other options with all the people that have been ruled out.

I’ll say

Fri-Kasabian

Sat-Pulp (still unsure wether they’d fit in at TRNSMT but couldn’t think of another option)

Sun-Sam Fender

Really don't think it will be Pulp. They will do something up here though defo. Kasabian seems a fair shout as they seem to have maintained a decent size, although i notice their hydro show isn't sold out. Seems we can rule out Florence, The 1975, AM and The Killers which is surprising tbh.

Oh actually I guess Red hot chili peppers maybe after cancelling Bella last year?

RHCP would quite possibly be the best booking TRNSMT have ever made if it were to happen. Can’t see it though

Newcastle shows are very nearby. Guess we’ll see tomorrow but not sure he can sell 100k tickets (lots of seats remember!) and then 50k more at TRNSMT. Would work well if he did glasto ‘24 as trnsmt 24’ is a similar weekend

I'm not buying Sam Fender being booked again in a prominent position for the third year in a row.

It would be very underwhelming but I would not put it past them. Every lineup of theirs  since 2018 has been fairly underwhelming
