Now I see the map in this detail, it looks like the Amazon Music stage is significantly bigger than the Ron Brugal sister stage, possibly even similar to the main stage size.

I think the important change is that the entrance is not from the side of the stage, that caused huge bottlenecks getting in and out. coming and going from the back makes much more sense.

I'm happy to see they've at least expanded the site to be closer to the Auditori as that space by the entrance was never really occupied late at night. This should help with the crowding as no acts should be filling out the Amazon Music stage until later in the day and everyone's already in the site. Also no bottlenecking with the crowd like there was with the Primavera/Binance stage.

I think that this will be unused space that its only purpose is to increase the square footage of the festival area and by that allow them to sell more tickets. it's too far from any stage to be useful

And it actually makes heaps of sense. Another local festival (Cruilla) uses Forum as their grounds and they actually put their main stage right where the Amazon Music stage is. When you clear out that space it really expands to leave room for a huge crowd.

Overall still very hesitant with this packed out map but I think there'll definitely be a few issues solved. Just hope they've got left a lot more room between Boiler Room and Plenitude.

It looks like:

headliner 1 vs Amazon + plenitude

headliner 2 vs cupra + Ron brugal

So Amazon + plenitude must be similar to cupra + Ron brugal in terms of allowed crowds

Primavera Sound collection is up on Pull & Bear if you want an idea of what merch will be available. Can't say it is to my taste but when has it ever been.

I kinda like the cap but that's it. I always hope for a nice tee but what can you do?

Yeah exactly that. I think their plan is by bringing that unused space closer to the Auditori, they've opened up all this other space to just use for staging. I appreciate they've done something to try and maintain the calmer spaces but does mean the amount of stages in the space is probably way too many now. Even if they are alternating.

Absolutely delighted with the schedule switch for Liturgy!

Solves the clash with WoD and gives us something to do before Rosalia.

for me it mostly gives hope that they're listening and that there's hope that they'll do something with Friday, cause that Modly Peaches - DM - Alvvays - Fourtet clash too painful.

If Tems is out, I assume they wont downgrade MP to smaller stage from Cupra, but one easy solution can be to start Plenitude stage one slot later, pushing all shows before Tems forward and getting Alvvays out of the clash, can be great change.

That multi-clash must have been done on purpose though, since they don’t want Depeche mode turning into an overcrowded mess

Pretty gutted with that switch as the Sevdaliza - St Vincent - Kelela - Tokischa - Rosalia run was pretty much a highlight for me. Still, lots of people seem happy. Liturgy are just not going to fit into that run, so it will be welcome chill time. Takes all sorts doesn't it?

Fuck doesn't apply to Madrid though , but it's the last night , so might not have the energy too stay , till the end for overmono or Charlotte de witte

The situation in Madrid is not so bad. Thre´s a little gap, 35 minutes, between Death Grips and Jockstrap. After you have Rosalia, Gilla Band, Jayda G/Charlotte de Witte and Overmono.

Decision screen 1: will it be difficult to see this act again (e.g Verocai would win out)?

If still a tie:

Decision screen 2: which act is playing on the better stage?

I saw Built To Spill yesterday and they were fantastic, I'd definitely go for them over Alex G. Although it's a matter of taste preference as well obviously, as they're not exactly the same genre.

Literally I opened this thread just now to recommend Built To Spill to anyone who was undecided for that time slot 😁

I see people listing bands that are “must sees” or “so disappointed they are clashing” with someone else.

I listen to an eclectic mix of every genre. I would be a regular visitor to pitchfork (to see their nest new music reviews) who’s tastes are questionable at times.

And honestly I’ve never heard of any of the bands people are mentioning here.

It’s like we exist in alternate realities.

Im going to check some of them out to see what I’m missing.
