So whilst obviously can't deny that it goes up if you wait, most on here would have been offered a Primavera Sound ticket for next year at about £175 (205 euros).

Glastonbury is now, gulp, £340.

Sure, but let's not forget the £600 on a flights and a hotel either. Not much point comparing them for UK folks.

As Ben said. It's significantly more expensive than glastonbury (and more stressful) with flights and accommodation etc. The further I get away from Primavera 2022 the more I think it wasn't a great experience. Massively overrated.

Fair enough on travel though obviously some will have friends who can put them up in town and a bed always beats a tent for quality of sleep so also not equivalent.

But Primavera Sound = stressful? Must be going to a different festival to the one I've been to over the years, joyous yes, a bit corporate and pricy perhaps, but stressful...?

Lack of water/bringing bottles in, massive grim crowds with huge churn, struggling to leave at the end of the festival. So yeah I'd say it was stressful for me. Tbh my whole group of about 9 people weren't singing it's praises. I won't return unless there's a big change, it certainly wasn't the festival it was made out to be by regulars. I assume it was due to covid and the two weekends issue.

I went the first weekend. The queues on the bar were a mess the first night (and the staff working the bars seemed like they had no experience or even any clue how to work behind a bar).

Was way better the days after that though. But I never felt unsafe, dehydrated or stressed to be honest. At most a bit irritated when waiting for drinks. It's a shame a lot of people felt that way. Maybe it depended on where you were hanging out? Though I did the headliner combo that evening which I guess is the busiest place.

Plenty would have to fly (or travel long distances from around the UK) to attend Glasto too. If you're just comparing ticket prices and experiences, the Glasto price hike certainly stings IMO.

Not that I'm necessarily advocating people go back to Primavera Sound either, I didn't buy my ticket yet and might not buy at all.

Its all getting a bit out of control lately. Individual gigs and festival tickets... I know they can say the cost of living crisis means everything has gone up so its more expensive to run, but I can just as easily say my cost of living has gone up and I don't have the disposable income to stump up €/£300 for a weekend of music. (and that's before my flight, accommodation, or tent, camper van etc)

Here, these are very first world problems. I know. But if I can't complain about festival prices here, where can I do it?!

I still can't get my head around the description of time off work to go to a music festival in perfect sunshine overlooking the Mediterranean as 'stressful'.

If you have a phobia of crowds, sure, but then Glastonbury is hardly crowdless...

get over yourself, accept that Primavera isn't a perfect experience for everyone that goes. This idea that everyone who goes to Primavera will come back thinking it's the best festival on earth doesn't help anyone. I'm not disputing your feelings against the festival, it's fine for you to enjoy it, but you're not accepting my opinion that I didn't think it was too great.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound strident, though it's a bit of a strawman to accuse me for saying everyone must find it the best festival on earth, which I didn't say (and in fact I was critical of several aspects of it this year). But I was a bit surprised to hear the word stressful used and that every single one of your group of 9 failed to have a good time at a sunny music festival.

Why is it difficult to fathom that a festival with hundreds of thousands of attendees to have a few people think it was a bit meh. I wasn't saying none of us didn't enjoy ourselves, but after it none of us were keen on going back. Just because it's a bit warm doesn't make it a better festival in my opinion, but I appreciate lots of others like a Spanish piss up.
