Primavera Sound Barcelona 2023 + Primavera Sound Madrid 2023

Just thinking about the lineup, it doesn't make sense to announce in December when people are distracted by Christmas and harder to get good publicity, so I'm expecting the lineup in November which is excitingly soon.

Stealing a march on the competition worked for them last time. I don't see why they wouldn't want to repeat.

Pulp tour announced tomorrow lunchtime by look for things.

Based on rumour they are playing Latitude in July, I'd say Primavera now looking unlikely as tour could be later on in Summer.

An impressive and all-embracing line-up, with around 200 performances and shared with the Barcelona edition, in which past, present and future will coexist: the reunion of some of the festival's favourite bands, the sounds that define the present in all its forms and the stars of tomorrow will come together in a list of artists in which Depeche Mode already shine as the first confirmation.

Isn‘t that Pulp confirmed, basically?

Arctic Monkeys confirmed NOT playing. Exclusive at Bilbao BBK.

Also in Manchester for two gigs the weekend of Primavera anyway. All-but ruled out with the initial tour announcement a few weeks ago.

They'll be announced for Trnsmt today too. That's July too, but this year's edition has The Strokes so you never know.

Highly promising.

I don't see them doing Barcelona, not Madrid or anything that makes Madrid feel like (even more of) a lesser version of the festival.

They can do both!

Yeah, that Dublin show makes it extremely difficult for Madrid and I'm not sure Primavera would want bands who are this much of a ticket seller only playing one and not the other. It's not an impossibility but it'd be tight.

I doubt they will have much of a stage setup, probably similar to Pavement this year minimal props, just instruments - could easily fly into Madrid and just perform and then fly out again.

It's extremely rare for headlining bands like this to do consecutive days across Europe when there is flying needed, though. There's so much risk involved when you don't add a buffer day in for travelling.

I'd be surprised if Primavera didn't manage to book them, but it's pretty tight.

There are 5 direct flights between the two cities in the winter, so presumably even more in June.
