Balmy 22 in Glasgow at the moment and has been like this consistently for the last couple of weeks, I've never wanted it to rain more! surely this can't last! I'm growing accustomed to it! Not ready for a wet festival we've been spoiled the last 3!

April onwards for me … although this year a delay till may . Totally makes sense to wear them at a festival though . I remember I used to wear waterproof trousers when it rained … daft idea that 🙂 definately shorts all the way now

Nearly always shorts for me too. Only wear waterproof trousers if it's particularly grim when I'm on shift. And even then it's got to be really grim.

Anyone who thinks this will hold for another week and a half is deluding themselves. Law of averages says after a period of such nice weather it’ll go to sh*t!

Last summer we went -months- without rain in the East. It could happen.

(I'm not that optimistic though)

What a bundle of positivity early on this fine Saturday morning.

Err yeah. So its gone from an increasing risk of showers - to low pressure, rain and thunderstorms.

Actually, its worse than 2007. There were no thunderstorms in 07 Just rain and low pressure.

This is a disaster.

I jus wanna be able to sit down. I dunno if that’s encouraging on that basis. Maybe it is? I’ve never been to glasto when there’s been a few big downpours, just constant rain, and sunny (albeit with a few showers one year).

The way the weather is building up we would have to be dreadfully unlucky to have any downpours during the festival, surely

You would think so, but don't jinx it like this!!

I know I should know better by now, esp given how the last two turned out, but Nal's doomsmongering gets me every year.

**desperately googles rain appropriate outfits**

Another doom laden prediction this time from the GEFS model run by the NCEP in the US.  This is rainfall for Cardiff (the closest location to Pilton they produce the charts for).  I’ve added thick black lines for the festival duration.  Too early for any detail, but what it does show is that it’s predicting June to get wetter as the month goes on, with the main computer run (the CONTROL run) predicting rain on most days during festival week.  This model updates every 24 hours so, as ever, more runs needed….
