Cos it's easily avoided if you're sensible.

But isn't it more easily avoided if there's just less risk of it? Totally understand it's just a difference of preference but I will truly never get the desire for it to be so hot that you're sweating, having to take breaks and constantly search for shade and reasons to sit down. Why not just a nice warm day with a little breeze so you can just throw on a t-shirt and not even have to take the weather into account?

This is really bad news

https://www.bbc.com/weather/outlook

Monday 12 June to – Sunday 18 June

so we cannot rule out risks of some scattered showery or even thundery outbreaks in the more southern areas.

Monday 19 June to – Sunday 2 July

Later in June the picture is becoming a little better resolved

a return to more unsettled conditions.

However, by the end of June and into early July more rain, showers and thunderstorms should move across the whole of the UK

f**king hell!

I've been inspired to quit my job, learn to play one or more instruments, form a band or multi-instrumentalist solo project, and work my way up through the pub scene playing at The Swan and The Nonce open mic Tuesdays every week for 6 years, all to eventually get spotted for my big break on The Bandstand at 6pm on Glasto Wednesday making my festival debut in Horny For Heatstroke.

Here he is! 😄

I was (selfishly) hoping for some rain and mud to scare people off for next year (no ticket this year) but I think you're all going to be fine. It's been really dry the last month and there's no sign of anything bad showing up as far as I can see. You lucky people 🙂

The advice if its too hot is always... dont enjoy yourself. Drink water, not alcohol. Find shade. Be sensible.

I'm not good in the heat. In 2019 I mostly stayed in the shade until about 7pm. I had a great time, but I don't drink alcohol and always keep well hydrated,

For me the best hours are 10pm to 6am.

To be totally transparent the Friday of 2019 I started to struggle in the heat during Sheryl Crow and got into some shade for a couple of hours after her set.

On the Saturday I tried watching some stuff early on, but again once the heat rose I struggled, ended up sleeping on the path in the shade that leads into the Stone Circle, eventually came round at about 4pm and made my way slowly back to the Pyramid for Liam Gallagher, got to the Mandela bar just as Janet Jackson was on and was fine sat outside having a couple of pints by that point in the sun.

Soltan kids factor 50 is the best Ive ever had. It's like war paint, horrible stuff, but it only needs topping up every hour or 2, rather than every 10 minutes.

The biggest myth in the world is this stuff. Expensive & had horrendous sunburn from it.

Do not buy!! Massive rip off.

This stuff is amazing.  Used it for years. Put it on half an hour before a long run in any heat and it stays put.

good luck to all ... whatever the weather you can mitigate it somewhat ..... best thing for me has been a floppy hat doused under the taps .... also do the same with my t-shirt on occasion ..... gives temporary respite but does help me

Did the hat under a tap in 2019, thought I was a genius - didn’t realise how much dust from the dry paths my hat had collected, add water to it & 5secs after putting it back on it looked like I’d fallen down a long drop.
Care required.

On Friday 2019 strangely I managed to cope. I can't say I really enjoyed myself and I didn't see what I wanted - Cheryl Crow being one, I had to get out of the sun, but I coped.

Saturday was the real killer for me. After the proclaimers, I didn't see anything til Liam Gallagher

So why not use sun block if sunburn is a worry?

To be honest sunburn is just one thing.

Trekking across a festival in the seating heat is a chore, and for me, not enjoyable.

People like the heat, that's fine everyone is entitled to their own opinion. To those people I say, get f**ked.

Winter for life!

I was on Pennards with my tent facing uphill. I had to pick it up and empty it like a jug.

@Franky @HotChipWillBreakYourLegs

2005 was also my first year. Who would like to see some pictures to articulate just how bad it was that year? Of course you do!

The Thursday was beautiful with pure sunshine. We were in our element. I remember primal scream - loaded blasting out from the other stage bar whilst we lay on the grass. Then I woke up on the Friday morning and walked down pennard Hill to be met with this. It was actually worse than this earlier in the morning and I remember seeing a guy waist deep trying to retrieve something from his tent, a 24 pack of beer!

The stages were gigantic lakes of mud and none of us had brought wellies. My friend and I at least had walking boots but my other two friends only had trainers. They had to use plastic bags inside their shoes. My mate also leaned his bag up against the side of the tent despite me telling him not to and all his underwear got soaked. But at least we weren't in the path of the newly formed river.

The tent below was located next to the John Peel stage and there were several other tents that were half submerged around there too.

Then the festival got completely churned up (see what I did there) which was a nightmare to walk through. I think this is why people compare it to 2007 as I think 2007 was incredibly sticky as well. However, I don't remember the rivers forming in 2007.

We still had a great time in both years though. We were much better prepared in 2007.

For this reason I am firmly in the NFRNFC camp.

It stained our clothes and made my daughters skin go yellow! The worst.

Well the GFS is all over the place. In the space of 6 hours it’s completely got rid of the low pressure to our northwest and replaced it with a high pressure.  And instead of rain from the west for Thursday night, it brings in some thundery rain from the south for Thursday afternoon.   Just goes to show at this range, it’s not worth the paper it’s written on….
