Ronaldo off to Saudi then. Sad really. Something he said he'd never do. Would've liked to see him finish at Madrid.

he did finish at Madrid, he's been shit since then!

After yesterday's results, there's something genuinely bizarre about the prospect of Man City having Haaland scoring so many goals and yet they find themselves seven points off top spot. Either that or Arsenal have done so well to get things right.

I'm not sure what to make of Newcastle's prospects of a result at the Emirates on Tuesday, mind. Could well be up for it after missing out on a win against Leeds, but will be very much an elevation in difficulty level.

It's genuinely odd how he's mismanaged his stock to the point where the Saudi league was his only tangible offer, and I can imagine there's a part of him annoyed he's not getting another crack at the Champions League.

I'm bemused to see some Ronaldo super-fans going "He's won everything, let him go chase the money" when literally a few weeks ago they were screeching that Ronaldo still had to play every game for both Man United and the Portugal team at the World Cup.

Indeed. The Saudi league though, grim. One of the teams he'll be playing shortly had 300 fans at their game a few weeks ago.

Sad that himself and Messi didn't get to finish at Barca and Madrid.

Tbf in 2018, Real Madrid were offered 100 million Euros plus bonuses for a player over 30, which is a record for a player in that age range, at a time when Ronaldo was claiming the club weren't supportive in negotiations for a contract extension. So I can see their merit in accepting it, even if the following season at Madrid after he left was a mess.

Messi having to leave Barcelona when he wanted to stay a year after he tried to leave but didn't was weirder.

Cant see Ronaldo seeing out this contract. He'll throw a hissy and fuck off in the summer when he realises what a shambles of a league hes playing in.

I've recently been in the "can't keep sacking managers" camp but his record is exceptionally poor. We probably need a relegation specialist type manager to come in and grind out results with set pieces or something, as we aren't scoring many more goals sticking to a philosophy.

If nothing changes, we'll finish bottom and be gone way before the end of the season the way it's looking.

Must admit I thought Arsenal v Newcastle might be a more lively game in an attacking sense than what we got, given it ended up with more bookings than shots on target.

Still, I'm content with a point. And quite something of a role reversal given at the weekend it was us getting wound up by Leeds going defensive with shithousery and a penalty appeal ignored.

Steve Bruce is available.

Was already a surprise to see him linked with the vacancy at Norwich so soon after he was booted by West Brom, nevermind this possibility.

Bring back Big Sam.

Irony is they'd probably try that if it hadn't got so spectacularly weird at the end of that attempt. That and I believe he has a "never go back" attitude.
