Is oxylers really as muddy/ flood prone as I'm led to believe ?

As the title says a large group of us around 20 are arriving Tuesday night and aiming for a good campspot as close together as possible and as close to the action as possible.

My instinct says oxylers , others say pennards . Both seem fine to me providing pennard isn't actually as hilly as the name sounds ?

However alot of concerns on the internet and in my social circle are saying oxylers gets muddy and very muddy really easily.

I just can't see it personally with only odd showers here and there fore cast , plus the ground will be rock solid currently with the heat wave.

I've only been once and camped in pylon ground far to far away.

Thanks in advance

Have also been camping in oxylers since 09 and have never had any issues with flooding or mud. I think there were issues before the drainage was improved. It's a brilliant spot, looking right onto the other stage, the sort of spot you only get at glasto!

Oxylers doesn't flood but in heavy rain and being flat it quickly turns into a soggy morass. If the rain persists the mud gets deeper and more and more liquid, especially in areas of high footfall.....BUT it's not going the happen  this week. Enjoy

Any area will get muddy if it rains enough especially the most trod paths. The footfall compacts the soil so the rain cant drain and the feet churn it up. But it is only rain and mud. With reasonable precautions it will neither hurt you nor spoil your weekend
