Paid most off, didn't he? Then ran away to Bahrain after he was acquitted? There certainly was an unusual amount of allegations. If it'd all happened today, I don't think so much would've been swept under the carpet and "forgotten" about.

Macca and Michael would say differently if there was a real argument about "bigger". Why is Beatlemania still being examined 60 years and counting? Taylor cured the planet with her music after a president got assassinated? Thought so. Billboard had it right when they gave Beyonce best artist last 25 years when they said that Taylor only sells but Beyonce actually had an impact on the culture. I mean putting thousands of people into crippling credit card debt should not be seen as an act of valor.

Absolutely loved it. What a first gig to attend. At that time they were still playing some of the older Tyrannosaurus Rex stuff.

I've heard multiple stories of people saying what a good, decent bloke Marc Bolan was too. Michael Eavis even commented on what a professional he was. Really sad what happened to him.

I think that's because lots of us were not there for those early years.

 

Believe me I'd love to be able to bang on about Bowie's set if I'd seen it first hand, or tell you which Blur headline set was better, but I can't.  I don't think anyone intentionally tries to hide the history of it - it is celebrated, and well documented.
