The problem now seems to be the post cold war peace dividend has been spent on things that are going to be very difficult to unwind, my dad is always saying if wetherspoons had started up in the 50's or 60's it would of gone under in a week as pensioners had no money and there was no such thing as long term unemployment.
I don't think the Friday opener would be a demotion, but people aren't predicting them for that, think someone said that's gonna be Shed Seven this year. They're being touted to open Other or Pyramid on the Saturday/Sunday which I don't think they'd take.
I don't think I'd realised it was Ticketek. They were backing Bryan Adams in arenas this year too.
It is very interesting. They are omnipresent as a retailer in Australia - think nearly every gig I booked while there that was in a mid-size venue or above came through them.
A bugger for Newcastle to lose out, but it is bonkers they would announce five days and flunk.
Part of me wonders if they thought they had snagged Fender, and then he pivoted back to St James' Park. Would be interested to discover.
Honestly, call up The Killers. They don't cost an arm and a leg, are a proven ticket-shifter with a decent support bill and haven't actually played in the Tyne and Wear since 2017. (They did sell out to 30,000 at Riverside Stadium in 2022.)
If they could remove the queue system from the resale it would be much appreciated. Keep the resale as it use to be for the F5 enjoyers!
I say this as have been successful 13 times in a row and finally defeated by the green bars of doom this year!馃ゲ
