The Guardian is stil a media partner for the festival, so a bit surprised that they're not allowed to sell copies onsite.

Is it not allowed? Or just not worth it?

 

Building the pitches, Getting in staff, Making the bags etc all come with a cost. Given the low margins on physical newspapers, I'd assume they probably turn a loss on it every year.

Yeah, I guess it's a bit of a loss leader. Maybe the comp tickets have been the only thing keeping it going since the dawn of smartphones.

but itd be very strange if the guardian was a media partner but you couldnt buy a guardian. itd be like not being able to get a brothers.

Even if they remove all of the Guardian-branded stalls, you'd still be able to buy it at other places though. Co-op, the various "general stores", etc. And that's assuming that they don't add any new options.

oh didnt know you could buy there. never been to the co-op at glastonbury. can't see cost being a factor tho. it must be minimal.

There was a band playing there but not on a stage.  It was all a bit lame after about 5 minutes!
