They are my two favourite areas but they don't even need to compete with each other.

Totally different - happily coexisting and serving up their own delights in their own way!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to both too. Just made me think of Zoolander when we were discussing which is more interesting for the general festival-goer.

Kidzfield said their lineup would come on the Thursday, but was Friday in the end. I thibk if Emily says something then it has to be true.

Unless Neil disagrees with it, then she's making up stories.

Is this year particularly poor for people who like Guitar music?

Feels like a lot of pop and dance really.

AM and GnR are two of the biggest acts playing, QOTSA rumoured for the Sunday, while maybe the undercard is little less stacked than before it's hardly missing it.

Last year had plenty of pop going around. TLC, Sugar Babes, Will Young, Billie Eilish, Macca...

There'll still be plenty of guitar music on. Have you not see the Park and Woodsies? Most of the Other and a fair bit on Pyramid will be guitar based.

And I’d expect more on the acoustic

I think it is but that is probably guitar music to my taste. Apart from a great run at JP on the Saturday if we believe clashfinder there is not a lot grabbing me at the moment, although if you look at it the other way two of the main headliners are guitar music. Basically what I’m missing in indie music from 10-20 years ago which there was loads of last year but early on the other stage often comes through with that and there are big gaps on that schedule so far.

Depends what you mean by guitar music really but there are a lot of indie/ rock bands already announced with more to come.

Arctic monkeys, Guns and Roses, Blondie, Courteeners, Editors, The War on Drugs, Manic Street Preachers, Slowdive, alt J, maneskin, nova twins, royal blood, warpaint, phoenix, pale waves, shame, the murder capital, the big moon, working mens club, wunderhorse, the last dinner party, black country new road, unknown mortal orchestra, jockstrap, Los bitchos, via gra boys, empire state bastards.

And that's just the announced ones which I know are mainly guitar/ indie/ rock music.

There will be a bit more on the other stage when it's announced and maybe someone in the pyramid.

Also queen's of the stone age are heavily rumoured for the stage headliner and people are keeping everything crossed for pulp to make an appearance.

I think it's about the same balance as any other recent glasto.

I'd say I'd be coming from a similar position music wise re the line up. Going back even a little further, I was hoping for a James, Suede, Pulp (still hoping), Doves etc, bands of my youth.

Guitar wise, from the lineup, bands I wouldn't really have know much about but am really excited to see would be Viagra Boys (think this gig will be immense), Shame, Working Men's Club, Murder Capital. I've seen Wunderhorse recently and they are wunderbar.

Outside of 2 of the headliners, the likes Slowdive, Manics, QotSA, The War on Drugs, Royal Blood...now I'm thinking there's too much and I'll most likely miss a fair chunk of the listed bands 🙂
