Does anyone happen to know if they are lined up an Irish date or is their appearance at Electric Picnic to make up for not having an Irish date on their stadium run?

Would love if they decided to do the RDS or Malahide, instead of Croke or the Aviva.

It's the Emirates apparently according to @JoeyTwho has good info

And has to be after May 28 because Arsenal are at home on the final day of the season.

With the Sheffield gigs due to be June 2 and 3, London will have to be 9 and 10 or 16 and 17 if it's going to be a weekend.

Most of them are in June anyway I think. Bristol seems late May, people were saying first few days in June for Sheffield

Yeah I think the Glasgow one will be in June too, makes sense to have it around the same time as Muse so they can use the same stage.

For some reason I didn't think the Aviva Stadium got many gigs. But maybe its' the case of the acts I listen to tending to book RDS or Malahide. I wasn't aware Harry Styles was there earlier this year, for instance.

Looking at the Reading setlist, I don’t know why Arctics bother with festivals anymore. They don’t have enough hits to turn up to a festival and ignore several of their biggest tunes. If they want to ditch their popular stuff and play the songs they prefer, fair play to them, but stick to doing your own shows. Be interesting to see the footage of this show because it looks a bit rough on paper.

June 2nd and 3rd... The same dates when plans are approved for new festival COSMIC also in Hillsborough Park. (https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/sheffield-getting-new-music-festival-21344577) Run by SGM, who closely tied with AM...

Are AM playing COSMIC, or is COSMIC just a front for AM gig?

Well the new song is rubbish. If they are planning a stadium tour on the back of the new album they may need to scale it down.... Played enough decent songs tonight but the middle was s bit flat tbh. Do I wanna know, Brianstorm, Dancefloor, 505, R u mine are still classics however.

I'm sure they don't need to scale back anything. Tickets will be flying out whether we like the singles/album or not

It would be one thing if they were a fantastic live act who managed to sell the lesser known songs whilst performing them, but most accounts I’ve seen of last nights set seem to be of the general opinion that they just turned up, plodded through the set and then left. I think there are enough hits/well known songs in that set personally, but unfortunately for a lot of fans the likes of Humbug, Suck It and See and TBH&C are of no real interest to them and they only want the laddy bangers so a good third+ of the setlist is gonna be lost on them, especially at a festival like Reading.

If the rest of the new album is anything like the song they’ve been playing live then their supposed Glastonbury set next year might be.. interesting to say the least.

A resounding “meh” last night.

Whole gig felt flat, sound was too low, energy from the band was too low and crowd seemed more interested in filming themselves than what was happening on stage.

Frustrates me because I feel this band should have a defining show in them, but I’ve never seen them get anywhere close to it.

Nail on the head. When you have so many laddy bangers in your arsenal, turning up to Reading (of all places) and only playing a few of them in a 90 minute set is bold, and likely going to struggle.

If Radiohead playing Lucky and Airbag in the first 4 tracks constitutes a bad/difficult setlist for casuals, what hope will AM have? They don't exactly have the back 9 of Radiohead either with Karma Police, Android, Creep etc...

If it's like that on the rest of the album it's got potential to be their worst.

I was there, you’ve just reviewed Reading Fest in general, not the Arctics.

I didn’t think the day was bad at all to be honest. Fontaines were great as always, Wolf Alice put on a strong performance and I even enjoyed BMTH more than I thought I would.

Just AM who were underwhelming.

Glasto 2013 was great for me- last pre AM tour (which I hate) and all the classics I wanted to hear. Happy to leave it there with them

GF 2013 was career-defining and utterly superb. I've seen them twice since then - Finsbury Park with the worst sound quality and annoying crowd I've witnessed, and at the NIA Bham during the TBH&T, where they were absolutely brilliant. I don't buy this "lost their spark" bollox, though it's disappointing to hear last night was a little flat. Look forward to checking it out tonight.

I assume that every review on here is from folk who went? It wasn't available online anywhere?
