kingcrawler
If they were that bothered about streams and sales they wouldn’t have released an album that sounded like this. I really like it on first listen though. I’ve listened to Mirrorball and Body Paint loads since they came out but those two and Sculptures seem like the early highlights. st dan
Really like it. Would love them to have toured this album even in an arenas with a full orchestra. Could have worked really well. I just can’t see how the tracks won’t just get lost in stadiums/festivals.

They might do something akin to The Killers and phase cuts out across the leg dependent on reception. Think their first shows on Imploding the Mirage packed around six new cuts, and by the closer in Ireland, that had dropped to three.
Hugh Jass II
They might be best served splitting the stadium/festival sets into sections - half an hour of old stuff, then a section of Car/TBHC stuff then back to the older stuff. Exactly this, really been enjoying the record and would love to hear it in full with an orchestra. Would be a special experience. In a stadium... I think it's going to be interesting, especially considering the reception the latest material got at Reading for instance, who even turned their nose up to the pre AM material that wasn't a chart hit. Yeah that would work loads better I think. The ‘laddy’ fans can then go for a pint and a piss to let the others enjoy it.

This was in a nutshell the TBHC tour, new songs came on, exodus to the bar. Not complaining, I thought it was a great album. Currently listening to the new one, enjoying it...but the thought of this being played in a stadium of smashed lads is.....interesting. MaxPower
Really like the album, much more than I did TBHC when it was released, although it’s because I was expecting it this time. Think the opening 5 track run is spectacular, Body Paint the best of the bunch in the context of the other songs. My only complaint is that it feels very short? It’s maybe a track shorter than most of their previous albums in terms of run time, but feels much shorter than that.

Shame as you'll probably get about 5 of them! 2 hours ago, NorthernSoul52 said: Good record, will mostly die on its arse in stadiums. I think TBHC (12) won't be played anymore now the albums out, doesn't really make sense. Not enough new album too - only 4 songs no way, too much album1/2 stuff i think realistically

It'll do cracking sales this week, but would be staggered if more than four or five tracks - in a twenty-one song show - end up in there. AM at the centrepiece once more. EighteenSixty7
Some stunning moments on here and I’m really starting to enjoy it. SoAG reminds me of Dance Little Liar. The whole album is like Humbug, EYCTE and TBH&C rolled into one. The Brooklyn gig from a few weeks back is going on YouTube on Monday. Turner's quotes in NME hints he still likes working the rest of AM more than he does when doing other projects. Specific bit... 'Turner turns to face us once more. “It’s just… you know, the air totally changes when the rest of the band leave. I don’t quite know what to call it, but I do know that being around them is how to get that magic – and I haven’t ever found it anywhere else,” he says, with a knowing smile.' Tbf that's not a million miles away from what they were doing at King's Theatre a few weeks back. I'd like them to at least top 21 for once and maybe change up some of the older cuts. But it's their setlist and all. Plus I still enjoy the longevity of Pretty Visitors, which is one of my faves of theirs.

kingcrawler
Sculptures of Anything Goes really reminds me of Nick Cave’s heavier stuff in the last decade or so, sounds a lot like something Warren Ellis would play. I’m very much here for it.
