There has been so much hand-wringing over this. I do agree that people seem so eager to criticise and it's based largely on pre-existing opinions of the guy, because what actually have they done wrong

Fine - you're not bothered about a man in his mid-30s with a huge public profile threatening to slap a woman so hard her "rat" wig will fall off her head.  But to a lot of people that is - to say the least - a really unpleasant thing to read with some troubling connotations so there is no "our" here, just because you're happy to shrug it off.

Healy is so desparate to be edgy it's tragic and embarrassing. And this is from someone who has stuck up for him before.

Yeah and Azealia Banks is a massive racist and homophobe herself. Healy should have paid her no mind and kept his mouth shut, like always, but we are all better off just to not care about internet drama. Call me if he actually does commit physical violence.

I didn't say I'm concerned he's actually going to slap her did I? But I still think public threats of violence against women are repugnant. Would have thought that'd be fairly easy to agree on but there you go.

No idea why more people don’t understand this. If a man threatens to physically assault a woman, it shouldn’t mean anything if he later says he didn’t really mean it at the time! 
 

There’s also nothing remotely creepy about checking ID’s of fans before kissing them. Absolutely nothing weird about that at all. What’s all the fuss about? 
 

He seems like a perfectly normal, lovely man.

I was just reading this thread for a good time. Some of the stuff coming out of your mouths are really strange. We definitely shouldn't be waiting for a woman to be physically attacked before raising an alarm, publicly threatening to slap a woman is enough of an alarm. If it was 'just a joke'... I would see that as an even bigger issue. 

 

I think I will pause this thread for a while.
