As someone who didn’t go to RW this year I am over the moon with that, but imagine I’m massively in the minority

Not over the moon with it (I was there last summer) but considering the alternatives being mentioned around lately, I don't mind it either. So I won't complain for sure. Although tbh if we necessarily had to repeat a headliner from last year, I'd rather have PJ or Metallica.

I'm more than happy... but didn't expected it at all! I didn't even see it at the first when they uploaded the poster. I was looking for Lolla Paris... which is not on the list. For a surprise, it's a surprise. Curious to know if they replace Foo Fighters or another band. One thing seems sure too: Billie Eilish won't be in Europe this Summer. Or could she co-headline with the RHCP and be the last headliner missing at Mad Cool too?

Billie Eilish IS in Europe August - September

Weird for RHCP and Lolla ...v

EDIT: you're right actually, Les Vieilles Charrues got them. Well, don't take anything for granted on some forums lol, my bad 🤗

Looking at the Mad Cool poster, I can see a few of those names at Werchter too. From the "big ones", The Black Keys and Liam Gallagher are very likely imo. Franz Ferdinand probably in the Barn again. I am hoping for Sigur Ros, Puscifer and The Hu.

Sadly, I don't see blur coming any more. Roskilde killed that dream I think...

Franz were actually in Klub C last time hence why I and many others had to watch them on the screen outside.

Ah could be. I was inside at the front though :).

I know it isn’t his style at all but are we all in agreement that if we ask @Ken19 to confirm or deny Blur we’ll all ask for nothing more between now and Christmas ?

+1. Although I think we have our answer for blur we just don't want to accept it and lose hope. If @Ken19 was right about the first timer though and the January announcement, I can't think of any other name than The Strokes co-headlining with RHCP.

Except Blur, I don't see anything else that Rock Werchter missed so far?

Depeche Mode

We could end with this I guess...

Thursday: Stromae + Blur (?).
Friday: Red Hot Chili Peppers + The Strokes (?).
Saturday: Muse + Oscar And The Wolf.
Sunday: Arctic Monkeys + Queens Of The Stone Age.

Strokes are likely not about given Voidz are playing at Primavera in mid june

In theory they can co-headline with Stromae on the Thursday.

Nah lets just bring Royal Blood and Greta Van Fleet back.

On a serious note though, I’m pretty sure they are out and are not a priority for Werchter anymore.

I'd say Kendrick Lamar, Depeche Mode and Blur. If you like them or not, all three of them would have been more special than any of the heads Rock Werchter has announced so far in in my opinion.

My bad. I read the RHCP poster and thought The Strokes were coming with them in Europe but there are just on the US leg (like this Summer).

Not especially fan of these acts. But it would have been different than the usual/classic acts announced so far.

Yeah, I'm not too fussed about DM and Blur either, but still a lot more interesting than having RHCP two years in a row and having Muse and Oscar and the Wolf headlining another day.
