I'm aware I'm possibly about to get myself into trouble with this but...I just didn't think Pulp were headliner size in 2022 but with these festival announcements I'm clearly massively incorrect.

Can someone point me where to start with a Pulp album? His N Hers the place to start?

Different Class. Masterpiece

Yeah I saw the Chems on a day ticket. It's not the easiest site to get to and from on a day ticket without driving, sadly, so I'd try and weight it towards Finsbury Park if you were wanting to see them without it being a bit of a pain.

I'll be doing Finsbury Park for sure (I don't drive for one thing) but was really thinking about them. Good to know, though, thanks!

They do, but on sale much later than the Weekend ones.

They also have (or had, I assume it's still a thing) a "day campsite" outside the gates, so people on day tickets an wait until the morning to get a train back to wherever.

Thanks for the info! Would that be so much later that by then we might feasibly know if they are playing Glastonbury?!

Only about twenty minutes away from Sheffield but more tempted by Bridlington i think, might be easier to get tickets and this the first show

Id suggest Scarborough over Brid... 8000 capacity and the venue page will do a presale.  it's a cracking venue too

Do His n Hers and Different Class back to back.

Two of the best albums of the 90's.

His n Hers is my favourite, but yeah start with Different Class and then This Is Hardcore.

Thank you for the recs everyone. Different Class currently playing. I can't believe they've not had any new albums since 2001, are we expecting a new album with this reformation?

Doubt it, I reckon they'll just do a few gigs next summer, maybe another show or two near Christmas, and then disappear again.

Great to see them playing at Bridlington Spa!

Such a great, GREAT venue and there's been some great gigs held there over the years. Seen Ian Brown, Prodigy and Elbow there. Off to see Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott at The Spa in December. Not sure why it's not used on more band tours.... Oasis performed their last proper 'gig' there (if I remember rightly) and The Stone Roses made their UK come back there for the Second Coming tour.

I've been badgering Tim Booth and James's management to play there for years now, requests so far have been ignored....

The Spa was tied to SJM for years, and SJM just took all their acts to Scarborough.

The Spa has now ended its relationship with SJM and is booking as a sole entity, so expect a lot more decent gigs.

I'm considering going to the Sheffield gig on the Friday, with a train back to Newcastle after the gig. Can't miss this.

Where from? The arena seems miles out of the city centre. I ask because I'm from Leeds and would rather not have to stay overnight in Sheffield.😂

Ah, that's great to hear. Lovely venue. Wasn't sure if a factor was that Brid is out on the limb as such, quite far from main routes and not really a place you'd probably pass by, if you're going to Brid you're making an effort to go there, if that makes any sense?

It was indeed Oasis's last ever indoor gig, could tell it was near the end that night.  Just nothing there & at the end Noel walked straight off stage to a car waiting at the back before the amp's had even started to fade
